This tale was actually based on a true story of a vase owned by a friend of ours called Monte (the friend, not the vase) - ie the last part of the story is true - the legend of the vase has been added 😀 He actually had to give up the vase as he didn’t have space in his luggage to carry it back home when he left the country. We vowed to look after it for him. We still think of it as his vase. It now sits pride-of-place in our lounge on the mantelpiece awaiting his return.

I can't help but think this story is coinciding with how the U.S. elections have just played out. No matter how much the outside world seems to think it was bad, I believe we (the U.S.) can put a lot of their complaints to shame. The difference is that one can assume the aliens in this story can leave to not have to put up with humans, but in OUR "story", the ramifications of what's felt in the U.S. will absolutely sweep the world for an extremely long time to come. As I am from the U.S., I am not attempting to come off as a shit, but more or less, just say sorry?
