How to make good money working in home health.
Переглядів 1,2 тис.5 років тому
You have to learn to strategize and hustle if you want to be successful in home health. Here are a few ways I've learned to make home health work for me.
Train new staff for additional income
Переглядів 1875 років тому
Most companies will compensate you to train new staff. It's not a substantial amount of money but it does add up. Plus it's a nice skill to include on your resume'.
Never give patient's an exact time of arrival.
Переглядів 2585 років тому
Always give your patients a time frame/window to avoid having to rush. It is always better to under-promise and over deliver.

Thank you for this information❤
Do you offer your google docs?
I'm in the process of creating a new, more in depth one. It'll have examples of SOC documentation. Here's the link to what I have available now. docs.google.com/document/d/1awNGXZ6N-QedgxdhC1HmsODVSHNTj7zeZp6gaSjoihA/edit?usp=sharing
Thanks for the information. Priceless
Thank you ❤
You're welcome 😊
So let me get this straight....they want the charting done, but they don't compensate you for the time it takes you to do it? WAGE THEFT.
One of the biggest CONS of home health! Some companies are starting to do better. But there's a long way to go.
Thanks so much. so helpful
I bet she was a different color
Awesome. I am starting now. I think will work a lot for me 🙏🙏🙏
Best of luck!
Excellent video! Very good information!
Thank you!
Just started to watch your channel and I'm looking forward to more videos 😊
More to come soon. Thank you!
Hey can you please make documents available again thanks ❤❤❤
I didnt realize they weren't. I'm making some updates, and will make available this week.
❤❤❤
That Google doc, omg. Thank you!!!!!!!
about 6 weeks into HH and the charting sux! Its slowly getting better, but still a start of care takes at least an hour theres so many boxes and looking at their chart for S=DX's, Vaccines etc.etc.Luckily with Kinser/Oasis charting teaching templates populate re: to DX's of that pt. you just might have to add a few particular things and off you go...Thanks for the info!
Yeah, charting is ALOT! And I honestly hated Kinser! lol. If you can master Kinser, you'll be set where ever you go.
Welcome back❤ I’ve been LVN for 23 years and will be diving full time into home health March 4. Praying for healing hands and a better educated community ❤. Thank you for helping nurses like me❤️
Thank you for sharing. I’m doing home health now and I love it. Did nursing home for about 25 years. Good change and I don’t have people or interruptions anymore. I like working alone and if I have questions there are many at me job who are willing to help or answer my questions. Love nursemarla 😊❤️😊
I did LTC and post-op rehab before HH. I'll never go back!
please make more videos
Please tell me what you’d like to see more of? What you’d like to know? I definitely will. ❤
6 kids? Wow you look amazing. Goals. Great vid!!! I relate so much to not wanting to be pulled in 10 plus different directions.
Thank you!!
Thank you so much for the information and Google docs. Very helpful
Thank you for letting me know I didn’t do this for nothin’! Lol. ❤
Hello there, I am a new grad RN, starting hospice HH in a week. Thank you for this vid, gave me some mental preparedness what to expect and questions to ask when I’m in training!
You're more than welcome!
Are you still working in Las Vegas now
I am.
Can't hear you. My volume is all the way up.
You are absolutely incredible for making that Google doc. I don't think people appreciate enough what you've made! A thousand times, THANK YOU!
Thank YOU for letting me know I didn't do it for nothin!
Thank you. Awesome information.
I just wanted to say thank you for this video.. are you still in the business? I've been doing hospice for almost 2 years now with a little home care also in there. We use HCHB, it's been a ton to learn how to use. Charting has gotten quicker..BUT is is still a lot! We have an on call number..BUT YES...these patients do call is all hours of the night. I give out my personal phone number. You sound like an amazing nurse!!!
Thank you! You are so knowledgeable and helpful.
Your channel is super helpful! Thank you for all this info!
I love Perfect EMR too!
Thanks 🙏🏾 I learned a lot as a newbie HH RN. Keep helping us with your videos 🙂
Great tips, thanks so much!
hopping on this video 2 years late but I just wanted to share a tip! I have CarPlay in my car (similar to bluetooth). when i’m driving I will draft a note in my phone via handsfree bluetooth/ siri. So my narrative notes can be done while i’m driving seeing patients, and when I get home I copy and paste the narrative note in my charting!
Better 2 years late than never…😂 This tip is GREAT. Thanks so much for sharing!
I'm going to look into this!! Thank you!!
Thoughts on recording a voice note while you are seeing the patient?
Thank you so much!!!!
Good video. I care, but I would never give my personal phone number to a patient
Great gems!!!
You Dropped Sooooo Many GEMS🔥🥰💥👏🏾........ Thanks🤗
THX FOR SHARING!! 😊
Hi I did Home Health in the past. Worst part- charting and then trying to find where people live. We need to be driven to appts.
Iwent ack tobedsode at ltch now. I am having a hard time keeping up after years.
I work at a long-term care facility now. I miss my patients with home health.
@@Ktrvrn You are so right! lol. I actually hired a driver to drive me around for about a year. I did charting in between patients and had the driver park a block away or so (hippa reasons). Ate too much of my profits though. I started off LTC, so I know the feeling.
Hi! Great video... I'm new to home health and I've tried to download your Google docs but it doesn't seem to work. Is there any other way to download this info? Thank you!
Hi! I can email it to you if you'd like?
This was helpful. Thank u Boss.
No problem!

I wanted to know what type of things you do for home healthcare? are you still completing treatments, giving IM injections etc. could you describe what tasks you do ? Im trying to decide what type of lpn job to choose I am interested in home healthcare but I also don't want to lose all the knowledge I learned in school.
You definitely will not lose the knowledge from school. You'll actually be very dependent on it. To answer your question, yes, you are still completing tx's, blood draws and all the stated above. You can specialize in wound care, become vent/trach trained, and a host of other things.
Thank you for all this information 🙏 bless you
You are so welcome
Thank you for these videos I was really lost I know you need initiative but dang You really gotta look up a lot of things to know what’s going on
You're welcome. And yes, HH is known for just throwing nurses to the wolves, lol.
Would you recommend going into home health as a new grad lpn?
I would not recommend it. Only because I often find myself in situations where I'm forced to be resourceful and creative. If it weren't for my prior nursing experiences I honestly don't know how I (or my patient) would have made it safely through. If you have previous CNA experience, then possibly.
@@EverythingHomeHealth thank you so much for responding.. I have seen home health positions available in my area that accept new grads and I don't feel comfortable enough with my skills to apply to them. Hopefully I will find a position in a Ltc or assisted living facility. Thanks again
@@crystalsdestiny Youre more than welcome! Alot of nurses hate LTC, but I actually learned some of my most valuable lessons and gained so much beneficial experience working LTC.
The Google voice recommendation is gold! Thank you for this helpful video. I am new to home health care as an RN, so your thoughts and input is very helpful.
You're more than welcome!
Thank you very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
This... was so informative. P.s I was right there with you on that tangent. Lol. This is exactly what I needed. thank you so much.
You're welcome!
Your channel is helping me a lot! Thank you so much
Happy to hear that!
For our company, we have 24 hours to complete our documentation on the tablet (HCHB).
I've noticed more companies are adopting this policy.
I had a Hyundai for work. It was just a work car. Upgraded to a Mercedes for work. It’s so much more comfortable to drive and makes the drive less exhausting. A good car makes a difference.
If it works financially, I agree!
