I'm stuck with my gmr 15 due to my state
Colt back in the day used to have insert for standard AR lower . It worked extremly well . I used to have one for the longest time but ended uo buying QC10 Lower
@@seanwhite304 I have a qc10 lower that works great, but it's Colt SMG mags. I'm impressed with the adapter so far.
@@astrodudepsu back in the day Colt / Uzi Pattern was way more reliable . Modern day it does not really make sense to have Colt Pattern . I have 2 Colt PCCs . One is LE6991 and AR/LE6951. 91 IS 10.5 AND 51 IS 16" . I've been wanting to use them in ShadowHawk PCSL but I just love my 556N lol . With Colt pattern mags a Maglula is definitely a requirement. Colt would have in every box for LE , or Over Seas Contracts for LE6991 / 635 Model's.
@seanwhite304 every time I slammed that steel colt mag into the aluminum lower on the clock I cringed. Glock mags I'll slam in like prom night.
@@astrodudepsu That's for sure
I played around with two designs last night. Both were around $2200. Not bad, actually, for a totally custom gun.
@chuckcribbs3398 it does seem like they had a general price increase since I ordered mine in Feb. As you said, still a decent price, but if the trend continues eventually it less make less sense.
Full auto?
What are you thoughts on the JP5 for non-competition shooting? Like home/property defense, everyday plinking & target shooting around the ranch, defensive loads, cheap range ammo, etc. Thanks.
@MrTBoner911 I tend to view serious competition shooting as the second most stressful thing you can do to a gun. The first is combat, but I don't know anything about nor have I ever claimed to. My experience, as well as observing the experience of others first hand with the JP5 is that its the best PCC. So that definitely includes all the uses you list. I have only tested Federal 147gr HSTs as far as defensive loads go. That works fine in my gun and I would have no qualms about using it. Cannot claim function with other defensive rounds without further testing.
@@astrodudepsu Thanks... I appreciate the feedback.
aside from extractor spring. what are the 2nd and 3rd wear and tear components that I need to secure for spare parts?
@marklosentes7988 you'll want extractors too. And eventually you may need replacement rollers, but the size will depend on your bolt gap and wear, you don't really want to buy them in advance. A spare locking piece, firing pin, and pin spring, is also handy. The rest are AR parts you probably already have.
Nice equipment. And yes it's offensive. But nobody will steal a purple gun.
Baby Jesus cry 😂😂😂 Good one ☝🏾
Favorite PCC is the mp5 clone. It's iconic, accurate and has a smooth recoil impulse. Also, there's nothing like the charging handle slap.
@@pjkf01 can't argue any of that. There is a reason JP copied HKs homework.
Dusting off my rifle for this weekend's pcsl. I'm excited
My top 5 carbines i own are.. 5. Colt MK18 MOD 0 CQBR.. 4. Colt 11.5" FBI HRT With Geissele HRT Mlok Rail.. 3. Colt M4A1 SOCOM Block II.. 2. Custom Build / 2Gun Rig . BCM Upper with BA 13.9 HF C.L. Hanson Barrel , FCD MLOK Rail , LWRCI IC Lower & Pinned Nox Keymo Hybrid Flash Hider. I have this setup to use less gas and mass as possible . Im running BRT EZ Tube 0.073 Mid length Gas Tube ( equivalent to 0.070 gas port ) , Brownells LW BCG with BCM Internals , Springco Yellow Spring & KAK 1.7oz Buffer . I run EXPS2-2 with Vortex Micro 3x Magnifier on YHM Full Flat Top 1/2" Riser. 450Y and on Reduced C Zone targets is what this is built for.. 1. Custom Build / Primary Rig. BCM Upper with 13.9" HF CL Hanson Barrel , MI 12.65" Combat MLOK Rail , Aero M4E1 Ambi Controls Lower ( PDQ Bolt Catch) , & Pinned Nox Hybrid FH . This also has BRT EZ Tune 0.073 Mid Length Tube , Springco Blue Spring & Colt H2 Buffer . EXPS3 With G43 3x both on Unity Mounts , Cloud Rein Micro 3.0-DF , YHM T2 Turbo K on DA428 ADAPTER . I pretty much run Geissele SD3G triggers , and full ambi controls in all my rigs . I do have 14.5" 223W LPVO Upper i sometimes use . It has Athlon ARES UHD ETR MIL FFP ATMR3 1-10× on ADM 1.93 QD Mount . All 3 od those colts have been thru at least 2 barrels and Block II has been thru 3. My 2Gun rig is coming up on 7k rounds . Ive been using that rig for almost 2 years now . Awesome video
Great setups man! I bet that 2gun rig feels like a dream under recoil.
Thanks. Was gonna get an sp5 and have it modified by RDTS to an sp5SD but then ran across the jp5. Love the ar platform - ergo's, buffer, etc. So I'm getting one and going to try and talk RDTS into milling the barrel and make it an JP5SD. Have you heard of anyone doing this?
@fmyles3 that sounds awesome and you should do it! I haven't seen anyone do it yet but it should work. Uses the same locking pieces as HKs, so there is room on the back end to tune it. Just get the shorter barrel to start with.
Tac Sport...FTW! I think I might have been there when that gun debuted.
@@driver8M3 almost certainly. It was definitely in the orchard.
Is your P7 a PSP or an M8? There's an old TFB TV video of 5 Cult Guns that has a funny bit on the P7. I agree with you though if you know you know.
@normankuebel7231 it's an M8. And yep, I'm in the cult, I know it.
Awesome video.. I need to pick up 2011 . I had PRODIGY for a little bit but ended up going different route . I'll more than likely snag Stealth Arms or Staccato P in the future . I definitely prefer 4.x" length with full size grip . I have never shot SILENCERCO Pistol . That shit does look pretty sick.. My top 5 favorite pistols to shoot I own are... 1. CZ / CGW Custom S2 SAO Optics Ready.. 2. CZ / CGW Custom SP01 SAO Optics Ready.. 3. Taurus TX22 COMPETITION SCR.. 4. WC EDX9.. 5. Shadow Systems XR920 Elite.. My CZ Triggers are pretty freaking good triggers . S2 has 2.2# and SP01 has 1.8# . I just absolutely love the S2 Frame / Grip . I might ditch my 2011 project and get the DWX Optics Ready . It does suck the DWX doesnt use 75 series mags but oh well..
@seanwhite304 that's a great list! Thanks for watching.
Tell me honestly, you hate epileptics, don't you?
Note to self, my new hat does not do a good job at keeping the GoPro stable. May have to revert to old hat!
@@astrodudepsu If it's gopro you could just enable the inner stabilisation. 10% is more that enough
Do you have any experience with blow back PCCs? And if so, how do they compare recoil wise to the JP5?
@paddypibblet846 ua-cam.com/video/3w5Rkvi0QZU/v-deo.htmlsi=nGqf9R0auUnvp2b8 That goes into my thoughts and experiences in blowback guns
Thanks for this Ive been looking at a JP 5 pretty hard
@normankuebel7231 it's a lot of money, but it really is the best PCC
@@astrodudepsu Anything you wish you'd done differently with your build? I'm not a competitive shooter but I have PTR 9 and I really like roller delay. Also I thought I saw some PSU stuff in one of your other videos. I'm class of '87
@normankuebel7231 I think the side charger is worth it for competition shooting, but probably not for general use. Otherwise the only thing I changed was the grip. And yes, class of 08 here, We Are.
@@astrodudepsu Penn State ! Thanks for the guidance. I'll ll likely have questions about your experience with the Platypus. I've been looking at those too.
That’s the ugliest color of 1911 ever haha unless of course it’s a ladies handgun 😜
Ever heard of the Minnesota Vikings?
@@nunyabusiness1755 or the Joker?
LA Lakers… but they don’t sell those in California 😂
Where do the JP5 and MBX fall into this stack of toys?
The JP5 is the GOAT. Not even close. MPX doesn't even deserve a second thought. It's a bad system.
@@astrodudepsu I was referring to the MBX Extreme PCC( that's B as in boy). Not the Sig MPX.
@scottc3029 that's what I get trying to read on my phone! I have no personal experience with the MBX, however I've seen a few of them over the years and I haven't seen one go down.
It’s your junk psa gun . Federal has no problem through my fn ruger and smith
You're stinky
I just had to start my wait over due to a custom serial number issue.
Thats a bummer man. I did the custom SN too. Good luck on the wait.
Blue and white might have been a better color choice
Glock grip angle or 1911 grip angle? Seems I cant get a answer on this. I hear good things about the platy. Thanks for showing us your pew pew.
The grip angle on the Plat is the same as a Staccato.
They say it’s 17.5; so 1911
The reason you probably couldn't get a straight answer is because Glocks have the same grip angle as 1911's they just have an extra hump on the back which the Plat does not have
I’m wanting to get into competitive shooting and was curious if you could give me some good options for a belt rig and accessories? It would be greatly appreciated.
Can't go wrong with a Kore competition belt. Simple and flexible across various sports. I also like the Ghost mag holders, they will hold every double stack Single feed pistol mag type. Holsters are highly dependent on the sport but C&G and Ghost make great options.
@@astrodudepsu Thank you for your advice brother!
Is the price between the Staccato and the Platypus justified for just going ahead and buying a Staccato? There's maybe a $1,200 difference. In other words, is that $1,200 noticeably worth it when picking up/ feel/ parts used/and shooting the Staccato
It's really too soon to tell. Out of the box I see no major differences. But I've got 2000 rounds through the XL and only 200 through the SA. Mind you the total cost of ownership is bigger than the initial gap, assuming you buy more mags (which you should).
You get what you get with staccato but you get what you want with stealth arms, IMO their triggers are slightly better.
Wry nice set up. Great review. I’m still waiting for mine…. Week 8 (20 week lead time). Thanks for sharing. Just sub’d.
Thank you for watching. My order went in on Feb 21st. Which tracked with the advertised wait at the time.
another WIN!!
I like the color scheme and won’t feel any worse getting beat by you with the ‘pus. I’ve been considering one because of the Glock mag thing… makes even more sense with the Glock mag PCC.
Like the mat under the MP5. We Are......
I heard the problem was to much loctite from the factory with the first batch
Bagged and cuffed stage, nice.
It was fun. What was really weird was having to cuff and bag an entire squad as staff.
What in the actual F is that optic setup? If you had magnified optic I’d get it…but with two non magnified reflex optics?!
It's extremely common in certain action shooting disciplines like USPSA and PCSL. Match directors love to design courses of fire with hard left leans to challenge rifle Shooters. As a match director I do this myself all the time. The best way to deal with this as a right handed shooter is this setup. Otherwise you end up shooting walls or other props or simply cannot aim if the angle is hard enough. Not aiming is unacceptable so this is the solution. Go to a match and compete! It will become very obvious, very quickly.
@@astrodudepsu ahh fair enuf. I have an RMR on my PRS rifle to hone in on targets fast some peeps have questioned that. TIL thanks!
@@JamesReedy Gamers will game! No worries man thanks for watching.
nicely done! Can you please tell at what situation do you use your side optics and how often it helps you? I have put the same but still not sure if it's worth this extra weight
It's an admittedly niche scenario. But as a right handed shooter, hard left leans are challenging, and match directors love to add them for PCC shooters. In those instances, the side optic is useful. Its like a once a match type of thing.
The only ammo that did not feed in my Smith & Wesson 5.7 is the AAC ammo.
Holy shit dude lmao , you are the fastest shooter i have ever seen! +1 Sub
I appreciate the kind words. Thanks for watching
Literally trigger froze on trigger freeze. Doh!
Keep watching, the epic popper fail was my first stage.... kept my head in it and pulled back the W.
Amazing! It's rare to see somebody that can shoot multiple targets that fast!1
Looking back Z-43P is just right in size...I never should of sold it...
I still have mine, stamped it. And I use it in matches from time to time. It's a great size.
You did run stage 3 differently compared to running with 556. Also couple other differences with PCC running stages
Definitely a fun match and different. I'll for sure need to slow down and get good hits vs 2 anywhere on paper lol . That was my first Hit Factor 2Gun Match . Looking at scores i see some people who usually finish higher up did not fair well with Hit Factor scoring . I juat need to work on being more efficent and moving faster lol .
We need a “setup” video my dude.
I think I can handle that. Stay tuned.
@@astrodudepsu thank you sir!!
Nice shooting bro.. We are squaded together on Sunday. Im definitely excited for the first match at Shadowhawk this year . Im also curious to see how well i do with hit factor scoring 2Gun ..
If you're willing to give another blowback gun a chance, try the B&T SPC9. It uses a very small proprietary bolt and buffer spring/tube system which comes close to the recoil of the roller delayed and gas recoil systems. But it retains all the reliability one would expect from a direct blowback (and the reliability of a B&T).
Yes, I have found the Federal to be garbage as well. I handload, and the only time I buy the Federal crap to s=disassemble and use the brass. The Federal varies from no crimp at all to well crimped to to point of difficulty in pulling the bullets. So, everything from bullets pushed all the way back into the case during chambering, to over-pressures from the over-crimped necks. Primers are all okay and the cases are okay, bullets vary over a 5 grain band from 37-42 grains. I just throw them away after disassembly. The powder as well.
So, it’s a great, reliable gun?
Great shooting! Also I know this is off topic, but here’s for anyone who feels they’ve lost hope and needs to hear this: whether you believe in Heaven or not, consider this, if there was a Heaven, are you sure you’d go there after death? If you’re not sure, here you go: God loves you, and he became a human as Jesus, died to take the penalty for anything wrong you’d ever do, and rose from the dead. Sin is disobedience to Jesus’ commandments for how to live, and sin separates us from him- if you want to be saved from hell and be with God forever after death, just believe in Jesus and what he did (John 3:16) and turn away from habits of sin (Luke 13:3). That’s it. Our actions are the evidence for whether our faith is real (James 2:17), but since everyone fails on a daily basis, we aren’t saved by our actions, but only by God’s mercy (Ephesians 2:8-9), so when we fail, all we need to do is confess our sins to God, and continue fighting (1 John 1:9). Hopefully this helps anybody in need, and I hope you have a great day!
I will wait on a version 2
I can't blame you for that one. I think a little more work can make this a great trigger.
Резво.
Still worth it?
Nope.
@@astrodudepsu no? Why not? I was gonna pick up one for $280
@MK12DUDE the reset isn't strong enough to split fast on a competitive trigger setup. I put it in a 91, it's nice there for slow steady shots of 308.
@@astrodudepsu thank you for input. What other trigger are you using in your mp5?
@@MK12DUDE for competition purposes, I've switched from the MP5 to the JP5. However, in my MP5 right now, I switched back to a factory pack that was modified by Bill Springfield. I haven't found a better setup for fast shooting.
