Excellent video except the static.
I know right! My phone was messed up! 👎🏻
@@The03tube great job either way. I'm getting ready to get mine out and assess it. When I drained it all the came out was less than an ounce of muddy water so I'm not very hopeful. Recently bought this machine so it is what it is.
@@eyeorewolf thank you! And 😱 that doesn’t sound good! Hopefully it turns out better then worse!
@@The03tube I just got it back together and working. I ended up replacing all 4 bearings, output shafts new aluminum cage, rollers, and armature plate, The rollers were rusted and pitted horribly. the inside of the ring gear was also rusted. It took a lot of internal grinding, sanding and polishing to get it cleaned up. All four bearings were shot. Frankly I'm amazed the four wheel drive engaged at all right after I bought it until it locked up after I drained and filled the case. I bench tested it and the output shafts engage when 12 volts is applied. I replaced torn steering rack boots, one torn CV boot, one brake rotor due to a broken lug hole, cleaned up the brakes and will be installing new upper and lower A-arm bushings and all four ball joints. It should run like new but I have yet to get into the back end that I'm sure will need some work, PO said the wheel bearings are newish so I'm going to leave them and grease them but I have a new set if needed. Videos like yours are very helpful. I will probably make a few myself if I see any holes in what's available. Thanks again. Peace out.
Where did u get rebuild from
You can find kits on eBay
I have the same thing possibly going on with mine. Maybe. It’s screeching and some grinding. And before that it was jumping in and out of high when going about 20 and above.
For sure a good possibility!
I have a 2007, arctic cat 250 utility and reverse and low gear works perfect but in high gear it starts jerking is that the problem thanks for the info
Did you ever figure out what it was? I have the same issue now
@@noitnam666 I have accidentally done a couple of them. But nothing really hard. I was having “lunging” problems in high gear when I got it tho.
Awesome job man definitely digg how you describe in your vidios 🤘🤘
Got the torque for the bolts? This vid is awesome by the way!
Good job. Brother
Awesome video. What size bearing did you go with for the upgrade? Also. What is the width size is that original spacer?
Tengo una cuatrimoto artic cat 250 y no engranan las velocidades que puede Ser lo que tiene
Mate thank you for a great description of how to rebuild a rzr 2009 front diff. I removed and open my identical diff today and it's pretty knacked. I had to gas axe the pinion brgs off and vaporized the spacer. I'm a rare rzr Aussie manic, and almost zero spares and support here in Australia. Where do I order that improved pinion brgs set from? I use SuperATV for most of my equipment, spares etc. Cheers from Aussie
Hello Sir! Sounds like your diff for sure is needing some love. Lol I ordered the bearing and seal kit off eBay.. the sellers name is Filtersnmore and the item number for the kit is 142399255584 Hope that helps! Sorry for the slow reply.. just got back from vacation, riding in the mountains.
Excellent stuff,. I've found the bearing & seal kit and ordered it, thx heaps. How about doing that quick video on installing brgs on pinion gear you mentioned. I noticed there is no pinion spacer and the roller brg appears thicker so does it eliminate the need for the spacer? This is important as I no longer have a spacer (after vaporizing it with gas axe removing brg outer races) and don't have dimensions to get one machined up, that's why I contacted you after seeing your video. Where have you been riding in what mountains? You Americans have some kick arse country to explore. I'm lucky and own 50acres so we race around at home, (I live in Victoria, sth Eastern states of Australia) but our state government are complete tools and we get massive fines if caught using a UTV in state forest or National parks, basically if you don't have access to private property you can't ride in this stupid over governed dictatorship country.
i noticed you took apart the transmission what graph or diagram did you use to put everything back together?
I was driving an arctic cat and something banged then it would not move when I gave throttle and I could hear the gears grinding, clanking
I just took note of how I took it apart, it was pretty easy going back together.
Yeah you are prob going To have to just tear into it and see what happen.. I would pull that little round side cover first and check the gear that runs the rear shaft.
I hav th chance to buy one of these that has the same problem, jumping out of gear. Were you able to buy that shaft separately?
Hey Eric! On this one I actually repaired the shaft. It wasn’t horribly out of shape. So I straightened it, then machined the splines to straighten them back out, instead of trying to take the slight twist out of the shaft. It did make a little extra play on the splines, but not much at all. And everything worked great after repair. I was having a little prob finding the shaft at the time, so that was why I ended up going that route. I did find a couple used ones on eBay, but you will for sure want to have good pictures of that end of the shaft. Some of them I found, you could tell had a the same kind of damage on that end. “ shaft starting to twist”
Partzilla has all the parts for the arctic cat
Do u no where i can get a ring gear and pinion for the 2009 800 rzr
I haven’t check on any for a while.. your best bet would prob be to hit up ebay..
Did you have to replace the nut on the end of the gears you removed to get things apart (shown early in the video) or did the whole assembly pull off including the bearing? I’ve got my cover off now and assumed things would slide apart but it seems locked in there
At 0:20 or so, that seems to be holding both gear shafts in place
I never pulled the nut off that part. Just took whole assemble out together.
Okay so I have the same model atv and it won’t go forward but goes into reverse. I was wondering if the counter gear thats on the end of the counter shaft assembly (that you showed was bent) was supposed to spin freely or not . Thanks
The bigger gear that is on the counter shaft, ( that is shown first, in that part of the video) it isn’t supposed to spin freely. The smaller gear on the splined end, should be able to spin freely! Hope that answers what you are asking.
dude's a cheating piece of shit, sorry. :)
Jeremy you racing your late model?
J Rocket gonna try too!
