old school guys like us no how to speed shift even on my Harley it's funny when someone wants to think there fast and I just laugh when they try to grab a hand full of gears and I say bye bye😂
Man that brings back a bunch of fun memories! Speed shifting my 70 TA back in the late 80s! I always found short shifting my pontiacs worked better but didnt matter on the street lol. Spun all the way through 1st and most of 2nd. Fun stuff! Well done!
If you plan to make a habit of speedshifting your GTO (YEAH MAAN!), good advice is to get another trans for backup and keep one fresh & ready for use. Make sure to use an ignition with a rev limiter, and don't be surprised if you blow the rear end, either. It was fun and exciting in the old days but we could come up with replacement parts back then. I made a lot of bad choices as a wild young'un, so better advice would be to treat your GTO as the irreplaceable classic that it is and not worry about powershifting. By the way, my first car was a '64 GTO 4spd. and later had a '68. The Pontiac guys that I knew were the greasiest spending a lot of time undernieth them😁
Gawd, I can't stand when people take the trans out of gear and coast half way down the block, or push in the clutch way too soon and think that you are stopping the car. If you don't know how to properly drive a stick, it isn't really funny to make a recording of it.
Back in the eighties my snow boots used to get stuck behind the brake pedal in my Chevy chavette. Foot was always to the floor on the gas anyways So…. Much more exhilarating these days In my 360 hornet. Of course I can't blame it On snow boots.
Good job. I had my doubts as I’ve seen so many videos of guys shift slower than my grandmother but you came through like a pro. Nice to know there’s still some guys who actually know how to power shift !
If this Pontiac has stock connecting rods you had better not miss a shift if you are shifting at red line. I love Pontiacs but they don't like high rpm with the stock rods. The 421 super duty may be an exception to this.
Your a total jerk for that 2 minutes of trolling and not showing or putting out what kind of car and motor...But ? That is power shifting as I was going to comment it needs to have such high rpm's that you need bang the gears to move the shifter. Then it is the same dash/shifter as my Old 70' Pontiac Lehman's Sport. Anyhoo that was really nice.
That's exactly right, never miss a gear first of all, clutch it but don't miss it ! and never let up off the gas. Nice job, dude has experience. That's the key.
If you can hook up your device to a old school stereo system and crank it up (like in my garage!) You can almost feel your neck get jerked off!! Lol
Probably the best power shift or speed shift some of us call it on utube!!! Great job my friend! Great job!
I phucking love it!!
Uh huh,,hell ya,,!!!
Skip to 2:00 for the good stuff!

What. Is this America muscle ride?
Pontiac gto,
Once u got that wood grain looking 80s shit i shoulda known. Hey man, THIS LOOKS SO FUN ! EFF EM THEY DONT SEE WHAT IM FEELING.
THIS IS WHY I LOVE MY AUTO TO 4-SPEED CONVERSION IN A '68 CAMARO BIG BLOCK
Can't do that in an automatic!!! I watched this like 10 times.
HELL YA!!!
Little GTO your really looking fine....😊
this literally put smile on my face
Now THIS, boys and girls, unlike all the other jokers who claim they're powershifting is REAL no-lift powershifting.
Had my doubts at first, finally someone that can power shift!

I have a 72 gto with a 4 speed . I’m 48 and it’s my first stick car ever . I’m slowly learning . It’s a little intimidating but I think I got this !

That was badass !
The "soundtrack" that is sheer therapy for me!!
he lifted his right foot
My friend had a 66 GTO, 389, power shifting here we go!
Got damnnnn that’s how you drive a MF stick

GTO??
Now here's a guy that's not a Sunday driver in a muscle car like the rest of these guys are on youtube.
Try first at mid power, not at full power. Full Power Shifting is harder and more prone to crash the gears..
1:47 😱😱😱😱👀👀👀👀😂😂😂😂🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
That's how u do it
Lol you made the camera pass out 🤣👌
I'm thinking 1970 GTO with a 455 and an M21. Maybe higher compression than stock.
A good speed shifer can beat an automatic.
gota catch that rpms just rite. no problem.
It’s been a while since I’ve done that, good memories 👍😊

I can do that, learned to power shift when I was 15 at the drag strip, 54 years ago
1:46 😱👀🎱🎱🎱🎱
starts at 1:06
That’s a true power shift. Tap the clutch, ram the gearshift, and feel the transmission ram up against the floorboards. Good job!
Love being Pontiac man.... Michigan is everywhere

Now that's how you do it. Giddy up
Nice 👍
