From two years ago, i thought i'd include this here as its an odd example of something based on fact, becoming popular as works of fiction, that then almost starts its own folklore tradition. For a short time

Here i visit a of few of the places that have ghostly connections to them. The jury is still out as to whether that was a conker or not.
(2) HP Lovecraft in Faversham????

A ghost location today, and a film location for a film, though shot in Kent, stood in for a place in HP Lovecraft's fictional version of New England.

Welcome along to my very first journey around Albion, looking at places with folk tales, myths, legends, or mysteries connected with them. I start with a couple quite close by to me.
Good find!
Interesting location. Old Rommey looked far more interesting that "new" one. Disney made a habit of buying the rights to many good stories. Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea became Disney's 20 blah blah blah. Never saw Dr. Syn, but I hope some justice was done to the story.
Hardingham Mill in Norfolk was the building used in the film.
Ah, that explains why i couldn't find any remains of it - ta for the info!
I know Pluckly....never seen a ghost
Interesting place. I especially liked the story of the highwayman. Maybe it's the morning light, but your images of the church and graveyard were very clear.
Many thanks! Yep, i was lucky with the weather that day - it had only cleared up about an hour before i got there
Nice one 👍
Loving this new venture !
