I like the cousins rod
whats a good starting weight to use with a flasher
Looks like the siletz
Are you using a weight or diver? Also how long of a leader?
Awesome vid!....👍
How do you attach the leader to your 360?
Do you have a pink paintball to the back of the boat color?
Geeyy'est music ever
Have you tied the #1 hook first then tie the #2 stinger second? Would seem easier. And please tell us where you get all of these components. Very good video@
Can these be used when downrigger fishing?
Already got that one, the addiction is real
Man that looks so good in the water! Heading so buy some cut plugs now before springer fishing on the willamette tomorrow! Tight lines brother
Nothing like the sound of peeling drag!
Hell yeah, I’ll be out chasin springers with your flashers this weekend? Tight lines
How long should the bumper be for the triangle flashers?
Triangles I prefer 18" but use 24" if I'm being lazy and switching between a 360 and triangle.
what knot are you tying the single hooks on with ??
What kinda weight do you run with those? Last coho season was my first year trolling flashers, mainly stuck to the 360s but man that’s one hell of learning curve and expensive too!
Not a specific weight per say, I loke to keep my lines at a 45 degree angle so depth, current and speed will all dictate the amount of lead needed. But, much less than a 360 does.
Sure wish you had installed the two welded rings on either end of the 360 flasher.
I’m new to trolling by flashers, first couple times out wasn’t very much fun, tons of line twist couldn’t get the weight right. Getting it dialed in now and got our first naive coho buck to the boat a couple weekend ago on your flashers. But I’m still getting line twist even with vip line locks and weight spreader bar and like 4 5 bead machined swivels? Any ideas what I’m doing wrong?
Not sure what you mean by weight spreader bar? You should have main line with your line lock secured to a 6 bead chain. 6 bead chain to your (whatever length bumper) to a good ball bearing or 6 bead swivel. Swivel to your flasher then back to your lure. If you aren't running heavy enough lead it could be flipping over the line and not "locking" there.
Can you counter the drag issues associated with bigger spinners buy using longer leaders and shorter bumpers?
I dont believe the bumper length would matter. Now, it might help with a longer leader but depending on how big your referring to
Impressive net skills
So when your trolling 360s do you want your rod in the rod holder basically horizontal to the water like that? I was out today trolling 360s for the first time and had a problem with them wanting to come up even with weight on them but my rod tips were at more of a 45degree angle. Was that my issue?
Personally I like it horizontal but have seen many boats running it with tip pointing at the water. I want the rod to load up and not just work at the tip
Hoping you'll see this question since this video has been out for over 2-years. Question: does a weight dropper make a difference in flasher action? Put another way, say you're using 16 oz lead, if dropper length is zero inches (connected directly to the weight slider) is the flasher action more or less, faster or slower, or otherwise different than it is if the lead is, for example, on a 12-inch dropper ? Apologies for the long-winded request.
Rick, lots to unpack. Dropper changes the way the line moves in relation to the lead. If you have a 12" Dropper, it will allow the flasher more freedom to swing but it gets a little Sloppy. Meaning if your using a 16oz lead with no Dropper the line won't swing side to side. If the Dropper is there, there is a "fixed " point in the line. Long story short. Shorter the Dropper the more pop the flasher will produce. That said, some days the Dropper or no Dropper makes all the difference
@@shortbusflashers1281 Thanks JT. Yeah, it just seemed to me the dynamics of dropper/no-dropper would have to impact the flashers movements in some way. Your response makes total sense. The variables and varied outcomes are things that make fishing so much fun and keep things interesting (tho I don't tire of "catching"). If I could hit a home run everytime at the plate I'd probably get bored. But that feeling of contact between bat and ball is so wonderful, well, it sure keeps you coming back. Pardon the baseball anology, lol. I love your products, and use one or another or several of them every time out. Thanks again.
How does the fat guy's kid get to school? Short bus?
Have you tried putting a stinger hook on the stock spinner?
This guy is a fn beta male. Shut up u commie compliant puss:/
never gets old
Are these the small or large clevis that you have on website?
Either size works on the Colorado blades up to 40# mono. Above 40# then us large
Hi, can you use the sliding lock when using a down rigger, would you still have to use a weight on it, or with a down rigger you wouldn't use sliding lock at all ? Thanks
Carl, with a downrigger you shouldn’t need lead, the downrigger will achieve the same thing. As for stopping twist, the release on the ball should stop it at that point. That said, you will need to mind line twist in the area of your setback
Why not just a single hook instead of the treble?
Not a treble, it is two hooks stacked. The single hooks have a deeper bend and seem to keep the fish hooked better than our stats with the treble so I made the switch
@@shortbusflashers1281 Ah I mean on the regular spinners. Sorry for not being clear. The mono spinners are more similar to a regular mooching or bait leader with the beads and spinner stacked on top right? But if you're having better hookup ratios on this double stacked single hook setup then why go to a treble for the wire spinners?
@@chillipphi Honest answer.... Its what the industry does, even if it is a better configuration for my personal use, it is so hard to convence people to use it if it looks "different" from what they are used to seeing its a harder sale.
Man that is a nice fish!! Its got to be bigger than 15 pounds. What river?
quarantine yourself brainwashed bullshit
Brahhh tighten your drag lmao
Can a get a sponsor in Sacramento metro area we kill them with those rigs
No short busses in Sacramento? How do the disadvantaged get to school?
Not gonna act like we don’t hear an absolute banger playing in the background lol
That was an excellent "How To", thanks for posting it!!
Jt doesn't even get excited.....lol
Great vid. Straight to the point.
That rod holder needs a shot of WD-40. lol
So does the operator lol
Man i love takedowns!
It's that a baitcaster trolling reel
That is a okuma cold water low profile reel, and they are a great reel. Yes they are a bait caster with a line counter.
Super helpful! Thank you JT!
F#@k yah!....Lol 😂
Great to see those local water's. Adding to the arsenal 3.5 in every color.
Thanks JT, Love my Shortbus tackle Robert Moxley
Awesome, products . Shortbus flashers for Life.
"There" :)
Siuslaw?
This how I have been running my 3.5’s the last few seasons as well. Much better land ratio for me.
Really finds its home when they bite and doesnt warble out a large hole!
