    the drive goes in a caddy, the caddy has an interposer on it

      ok cool thankyou so much for your help looking into getting a caddy and the drive for it, it will have the interposer on it that connect to hard drive in caddy and then connects to computer and slots in, I would imagine thinkyou

    Looks like you need a Dell HDD IDE 44 pin Adapter Connector (part number- Foxcon 8267R 08267R )hope this helps.

    It's looks like it takes a IDE type drive you can find plenty on eBay looks like a 40pin connecter. Amazing find you could turn this into a retro gaming laptop once you get it up and running or turn it into a emulator machine.

      Well I appreciate that that information, I would really like to do that with laptop, the battery still works and it’s got a great screen on it I ve worked with those drives before I just for some reason could not figure this one out Thankyou so much I will order one of right away, do you think they make an ssd form factor ide 40 pin?

    I dont really have an issue with ms adding ai. Its just another bloatware app on top of all the other ones. Its sad that steam discontinued support for all versions of windows before 10 tho

      Hi how are you doing? So there only way for me to explain to you how get past the tpm 2.0 check is using Rufus, I am creating a short on it, here soon, Using Rufus bootable usb creator has designed a bypass when it asked you to create the boot drive, it will ask you would you like to disable secure boot, tpm 2.0, 4gb ram requirement, yes my friend, windows 11 can be ran on old unsupported hardware, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask me, I read the most of my comments

    My family and I had this exact same PC, bought new, in like 2004ish? After many ram upgrades later from hand me down sticks from friends, it was finally retired sometime around 2011.

    huh that may have the original recovery partition on the hard drive, I would try making a backup of that if at possible and then do a full factory re-set.

      Hi Hows it going? You should be able get away with running Free Fire on the dell optiplex in question, but pub g might require something much faster. hope this helps.       @@TechSimplified910 if not you could do as what i did, get a cpu that can support 1333, the cpu will make it work but the motherboard will limit the speed to 1066 MHz, so in conclusion it’s the cpu that rejects it, not the motherboard. As I brought a e8400 and put on 1333 ram kit, it works, only for 1066. But I’m happy with it overall :)

    Hi, nice video. I did the same but saving and opening files from both word and excel I get spinning wheel and no dialog at all. Unable to save or open. Windows 11. My office copy is licenced. Any thoughts? Thanks

      FIXED!! Disable onedrive and the open/save problem goes away.

      Turning off fast startup, can help with certain driver issues and help log in to bios if needed, thankyou for comenting

      Yes I have i went way back to get driver support, I’ve been getting ready to download all drivers for all supported models of mine onto my Xeon home server unit, and when ever I need to acess drivers I can network connect It’s really cool that Dell still supported

    I have an older Dell Optiplex 2400 missing the power source & hard drive. Somebody was going to scrap it. -as they took the power supply & hard drive out of the case.I'm looking to rebuild it for desktop usage. surf the internet & word proccessing. nothing more.

      It’s a great machine I will say, I have 3 of these units, it’s a great machine once you put a ssd in it and reinstall vista all the way up to windows 10 and get the product key digital signed it’s a great machine, if you ever have any questions about it feel free to ask me

    I have a mighty old dell optiplex g1 I found in one of my side rooms at my home-I'm looking for any information on any upgrade I may be able to do to it-it is a VERY OLD machine(not a tower,but a square shaped base that a monitor would sit on top of)-i'd like to upgrade the ram & have a better soundcard installed into the machine.-as I stated it is a Very Old desktop & I know nothing of how I even aquired possession of such a fossil.-I fired it up & it runs smoothly-not the fastest machine but for how old it is, I'm thinking I might just use it for word proccessing-it doesnt even have a printer interface on the back of the cpu base... is there anything I can do?

      Well the best thing you could do is install windows 10, install a ssd in it and put as much ram that it allows into it, you will have to reinstall drivers after that you should be all good to good

    POP OS {Linux} just works well on older machines whether it has a SATA drive or SSD... Once I get Wine to work in Linux, there will be no need for me to ever touch a computer with Windows on it - forever!

    For an older PC or laptop, I just double the ram and that gives a performance kick... For Windows users, it does not matter how fast the hardware is - as long as that computer is connected to the internet, eventually it will slow down because of all the commercial crap running in the background and the forced updates...

    i have 4 of them in the small form factor i put a q9550 quad core in them and a cheep stat ssd and 16 gig of ram dell amd made a whole line of low profile video cards i used them for linx and xp retro gamers
