Thank you for this lovely conversation! I really felt the part about being in community and asking for and accepting help. I'm working to heal my "eldest daughter syndrome" and one quote that has really stuck with me is from Brené Brown: "When you judge yourself for needing help, you judge those you are helping. When you attach value to giving help, you attach value to needing help. The danger of tying your self-worth to being a helper is feeling shame when you have to ask for help. Offering help is courageous and compassionate, but so is asking for help." Maybe someday we'll all be helping each other and nurturing our communities because that's just another beautiful thing humans do, like art and dance and play ❤️

Another big part of hoarding is old sketches, paintings, drawings. Those piles of paper that don’t necessarily have any value for anyone except me 😂 I’m so sentimental about them. But once in a while I burn a lot. what do you do with them? Probably a topic for another episode ))

Hey, I’m a 35 year old black guy who runs a design studio. I’m saying those details to say that so much of what you’re saying really resonates, and it helps give me language around how I can support my wife in her art. Really appreciate the candid conversation.

Hi Rachael and Lauren!! I stumbled upon you two while searching the word "creative" looking for podcasts on Spotify a few weeks ago, and I have loved all of your episodes! I am a huge crafter and I have dabbled in/do dabble in crochet, coloring, jewelry making, kandi making, Cricut crafts, writing, doodling, greeting card making, scrapbooking, mood/vision boards, and the list goes on I'm sure, lol. I just wanted to reach out here and say please keep doing what you're doing! I was only listening on Spotify but I just found out you have videos here on UA-cam for your episodes and I'm so excited! I have ADHD and I am very bubbly and energetic and this podcast has really validated me in my hobbies, personality, and interests. I work in the corporate world and am struggling to find my niche within my career, and I feel I often supplement that lack with my crafts and little side hobbies, and I wanted to say thank you for creating a fun space where I feel welcome! I followed you both on Instagram and I am loving both of your content so far. Keep it up ladies!! :) Xoxo

I'm guilty of hoarding supplies. I have boxes and boxes of paints, pastels, water color, acrylic paint when now I basically only use pencil and ink now. But I don't think I've heard of anyone hoarding almonds lol! Kudos to Lauren for trying to use them though!

Oh my goodness, thank you for posting your chaotic creative ramblings here. I've just listened to both parts as i did chores and some pottering in the garden. It helped clarify a lot of things I've been struggling with and you had good advice and were so easy to listen to, you seem so relaxed with one another. Thanks again 🩷

Loved this pod. I related hard when you were both discussing discovering a new creative passion, accepting that you aren't going to be good right away. Same goes for when you touched on monetising your creative passion; I have done product photography for about 4 years now and really lost my energy for it when my focus became more about monetising that creativity through sponsorships and collaborations with companies, it wasn't until I took a break from it and prioritised fun that I really felt the benefit it provided me. It's energising, great for my mental health and I am able to take so much more pride in my work now I'm not grinding away for a deal. Look forward to more pods from you pals!

Cool podcast I enjoyed it! So true about having different passions and interests and not having to monetize everything. Also you ladies have great style! Love the clothes and decor and love the bib!
