What is the job which this diesel engine still does in this fully electrified line which electric locomotive cant do ? Please i want to know the truth.

Why do these diesel engine are used in a fully electrified line ?

Sealdah South line is connected with the main line in two ways:- From Ballygunj one line gets seperated running parallelly until park circus after which that line bypasses Sealdah getting directly connected to mainline and go bidhannagar, this route is mainly meant for the goods trains coming from mainline heading budge budge and majherhat. Now some locals use that line too like majherhat Naihati and Canning bonga, budge budge Naihati, namkhana hasnabad etc. While entering Sealdah South, you'll find one line getting seperated and going towards the yard named beleghata where the mail/express trains coming to Sealdah main/north park their coaches so from that yard too some coaches are likely to be getting used for the purpose of inspection using the line which is connecting Sealdah South line with the Yard.

From diamond harbour one line will be very soon be connected to medinipur and in namkhana line from kulpi one line will be connected to digha for the purpose of passing goods trains and also that Sealdah budge budge line will be extended further until one station of SER in Howrah Santragachi section.

I have seen goods train in these routes with variety of locos such as WDS4, WDMs, WDGs, WAM4, WAP7, WAGs.

One is GM inspection special train, one is track recording car TRC train and one is OMS inspection special train. But when do these trains pass from SDAH south section ?? Want to catch them live. Best is whenever their is OHE failure, WDM and WDS4 must together be coupled and do the line inspection and after the OHE and track everything gets back to normal, one inspection must done by both WAM4 and WAP7 being coupled together.

One Tata WAM4 and one GZB WAP7 should be kept in Sealdah South section for regular line checking at either sonarpur or baruipur station along with a WDM as well as WDS4 in case of OHE failure. WDM and WDS4 can work during OHE failure whereas WAM4 and WAP7 can do the regular line inspection when OHE is alright. One WDS4 and WAP7 can be parked at sonarpur or baruipur whereas one WAM4 and WDM can be kept at Ballygunj.

Eyita kobe hoyechilo abar next kobe hobe ? Want to catch such train live passing baghajotin. Please help.

I have seen 5-6 coaches inspection train in baghajotin with WAM and WAG5 loco during 2001.
