My wife and I sailed an H28 built in Sydney BC in 1964 to LF Herrshoff 1949 drawings. Not exactly to spec, like this one, but a joy to sail over fifteen years. I’m not sure how he would react to the mods, but we liked the taller cabin, strip planking and enclosed head. They really should be ketchup rigged as ours was. Imho.
She's a great boat. I raced it in the Pittwater to CoffsHarbour and Sydney to Goldcoast in the 90's as crew. Suprisingly good storage and nice speed. We've had it up to 12 knots on a flat piece of pittwater with the spinakker up and a strong steady 30kt breeze. We also had it up to 12kts surfing down 8m swells in 50kt winds and she handles very well. There's a reason it did really well in the 1977 world half ton cup in Sydney which was the reason it came to Sydney and stayed around. It raced the 1980 Sydney to Hobart.
She was our magic carpet for three and a half years, and took us to places I had only dreamed of. And was our social isolation during covid. I'll never forget her. An amazing boat, but now up for sale in Adelaide.

I'm probably in the minority here, but music is just a massive distraction to what you're saying - and that is what I came here for, to listen to what you're saying. Given that the waterline length is 36 feet or less, is the quoted cruising speed of eight knots feasible?
Nice tour. Great quality here, maybe just a tad old feel to her interior. Love the inmast furling main. Skeg rudder arrangement I presume. With discounts for inspections, thru hull updates, sail condition?, engine?, etc... I would say she's worth about mid to hi 150 to 200k. Can't do better than that for offshore peace of mind.
