1:45 Kings Lynn was never an “Ancient city” it was a port and market town and in 1537 it was actually known as Bishop's Lynn and colloquially known as Lynn which it still is referred as of today
Kings Lynn was never a city. It was a port and Market town.

I had only stayed in King's Lynn from 1980 till 1982. It was when I studied A Levels. Now after 40 years , I am watching this documentary. Beautiful serene town. 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
I knocked on the side door of the exorcist house thinking no one lived there. The man came out wasn’t impressed 🤦🏼♀️
Sharing with my mom, she left for US in 1956, she'll love it!!
My grandparents lived on Metcalf Ave., the Peacocks. My mom married an American, I have lived in US all my life, but have visited KL many times. I'm sharing this with my children, thank you!!
Very good!
Most interesting!
So lovely! It really took me home to Lynn.
I grew up on Bedford St which was a bit downtrodden by quirky with Hattons the Tobaconist round the corner and a very reclusive Mrs Ransom who would pop out of her back gate and scare all the kids
My great grandfather was born in one of the haunted cottages by trues yard.
It’s also interesting to learn that Duce meant the devil, one of my other ancestors is James “Duce” Norris who also lived in kings Lynn north end. It’s all very spooky.
I remember Arthur West he was a nice man .His house had old black telephone s baker lite phones .And his house was very creepy .I always wondered what happened to him. He gave me the inspiration to collect old phones that I still have today .
King's Lynn still holds a special place in my heart 💞💕
