It actually still utilizes one hanger at the bottom of the right rearset

Kawasaki Claim to have made “improvements” on the clutch on in the 500. But it does still still slightly, my 400 had an undercut transmission, HUGE difference! Watch Part 1 of the build! But my clutch issue in the video was more related to a lever error/issue which seems to have cleared up! But I am still going to try and do the Graves/Barnett Race Clutch kit !

It’s pretty fun! It’s great layout but it has “character”! MSR Houston!

@@manuelracing448 my 400 had the undercut transmission, stiffer springs and nicer plates, it was big difference! But apparently Kawasaki says it’s “updated” the transmission, I guess we will see! @@JohnPaulV I really just felt like I could never really get it dialed in for me. I also bought my ninja 400 which I also use at the kart track so I decided I had to let one go. And the SMR was I great bike I wish I could have it in the garage!

@@Theshayman i understand. but the ninja is almost 100 pounds heavier. How different you felt it in the Kart track? im looking to get a bike for kart track. either ohvale or ktm. looking for your inputs

@JohnPaulV happy to help!! I do definitely miss have a supermoto, if you want a versatile bike you can ride, train, and practice at any track the N400 is a great option! The SMR doesn’t do well at a big track but at kart track it’s a blast and since I ride big tracks more than kart tracks i just couldn’t justify keeping it! As far as reliability I only put about 30hrs on mine and it had zero issues!

@@serb3392 thanks for watching and the question! I did when I mounted the previous set of old slicks! The Pirelli slicks are so well balanced that your are usually just balancing the wheel no the tires! So I figured no need to rebalance

@@natemann973 I had a feeling the transmission swap would not work since the crank is probably different! That’s good to know, they said they “updated” the transmission but from just riding around the neighborhood it does not feel nearly as nice as the under cut transmission! I think the tanks are the same? But the fuel pump plug is definitely different it has two extra wires that go to the dash and the tip over sensor! That was the same reason mine wouldn’t prime with the 400 delete plug
