SOLAR | Tone Reel | Sci-Fi TV Series
When pitching a TV show or movie sometimes it helps to create a "tone reel" which helps sell whatever project you're pitching. This is the reel for our sci-fi family drama "Solar", which is like a sic-fi "Succession", created by Ken Kabatoff & Christopher Nash

One of the best ways to become a better filmmaker is to not only read produced scripts, but to see how stories transform from script to screen. Really nice work!
Glad you think so! 🙏🏻
Just wondering, is Scrivener used at all by screenwriters?
Not by any of the working writers I know!
@@forbiddenplanet2406 Thank you for letting me know!
It'd be nice if you put these videos in a playlist I'd love to grind them.
Done! Great idea!
Very well put, keep going! ❤
Thanks a lot! I really appreciate that.
Great tips as always! What do you think about StudioBinder's script writer? When I started writing my first script I went with it and was pleasantly surprised. You can start a few projects for free, and pay if you want more slots later.
Thanks a lot! Glad you enjoyed it. I'm not familiar with that specific screenwriting software, but knowing StudioBinder it makes sense that there's a screenwriting tool that can sync up with the rest of their suite. As long as it's free, great! But I'm not sure paying for more, or better suite integration is worth it since FD and FI ouput the types of files needed to integrate with Movie Magic Budgeting and Movie Magic Scheduling anyway. However, if the cost isn't as high as Fade In, then I don't see any harm!

Love the production here mate. I don't know anything about film but stumbled across this video, looking good!
Much appreciated!
This was very informative. Thank you!
Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad it could help you in some way. Feel free to share with others!
Does James have an issue with ectropion of the lower lids?
No, that’s just make up!
Inquiring minds want to know; would you say that Taylor Moorey was the best student and co-worker you've had?
Taylor is pretty, pretty, pretty good!
Awesome multiverse set up for continuing stories. Short and sweet, thank-you.
Our pleasure!
Good story. I remember Neal from the show Eureka.
Thanks! Neil's a great guy and a talented actor! Lucky to be able to call him a friend.
❤
Thanks, Meris! 🙏🏻
I Live in BC ,the lower mainland and I can confirm that this is not a work of fiction
Haha! So true. We had A LOT of inspiration...
Love this concept - it’s based on the multi universes theory
It sure is! Thanks a lot!
Damn, this acting is terrible.
Indeed, that was missing: a totally dramatic, even melodramatic, Sci-FI movie amongst the million of other dramatically ones… My God, so many people addicted to drama instead of enjoying what's alive and vital, making UPLIFTING movies, which give the opportunity to GROW instead of making negativity (in several domains) worse.
Not good.
Thank you!!!! 🙏🏻
I wish my chronic illness made me that cool
Really enjoyed this. Well done to all involved.
🙏🙏🙏
Watch this more than once absolutely gret work
what soundtrack is in the start and end?
👏👏👏
Excellent film. The final scene, right at the end... he reappears "whole" and looks in her direction... Sequel? :O)
Awesome short!
Bravo! 👏🏽
Good
5:11 well that’s not creepy at all 😳
I watch a lot of these short stories. They are all well done. But despite having a PhD in science I can barely understand any of them. It would be great if someone could give an interpretation in the comments.
Good writing, acting, cinematography, editing, and sound design. It fits the current conversation of UAP. In engineering, we work with the conservation of energy principle that energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transferred or transformed. That's how we do real life energy calculations. By this, your energy cannot be transferred to another time where you exist, unless it is transformed to the existence of someone else in that time. That would also suggest that humans are capable of being telepathic, sharing thoughts without sharing energy. That form of telepathy would be like an advanced wifi where we can share data in different timelines. By the conservation of energy principle, you wouldn't need to worry about a split. But, Holly and James could telepathically send info to each other, or themselves, in other timelines. That would explain the stories that members of the U.S. military have been admitting to about UAP showing up and shutting down nuclear weapons and telepathically reading the minds of the people operating those weapons. By the conservation of energy principle, that would be possible if the UAP were actually human beings from the distant future who do not live in the time period they are travelling to.
Is this in any way related to the horror game Luto? The box with the lock is almost identical in that game
Is "April" by the same producer? Is it available anywhere?
This is actually really well done! For a short indie project, it's quite engaging. Simone's acting, especially when getting the news of the split, is really heart-wrenching. Very nice production and interesting concept - would make a good full-length feature.
Cool horror!
Was that his missing daughter at the end? Who were the other entities?
Yes. Check out Luto: Chapter 1!
Loved it ! J.L., R.N.
Impressive 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
AWESOME!!!🎉🎉🎉
Thanks!!
@@forbiddenplanet2406 👍😎
This was very well done and interesting. It doesn't hurt that I'm in love with Simone either.
You and everyone else! What's not to love? She's her own type of star.
@@falloutfan2502 Yeah, she's like that girl next door who's somehow outa reach. Me and everyone else probably figures George has a secret crush on her. He's not gay (as far as I know... and he lushes over women in the movies they review). I just see him editing their videos and pawning over her in secret. They were school buddies. She probably rejected him early on and they remained friends. Been there!
@@ploppy9943 Yeah, I assume the same. Don't know if George is "George He", but that person is credited with some work on the video game voice she did. Likely they worked together at some point too. Yeah, she's quite a singular woman, for sure. I'm sure she gets marriage proposals and garbage all day. But I hear she's also rich and has a VERY nice life up in BC, so never mind, lol. Dream on.
@@falloutfan2502 Yes, George from CineBinge is George He. I haven't read personally about the video game voice thing but it would have been him, I guess. I found out that he also won an AVN award for best cinematography in a VR adult video in 2017 for P*rn H*b. It was a parody of Donald Trump. He's also credited with working with Kanye West in producing the first live VR cast of some award show. I don't remember the details, but I think it was the very first live VR event ever done. George is mega smart. And just him being best friends with Simone makes him mega lucky!
Love the lead actress and awesome short horror film
She’s amazing! Thanks!
Curto e intenso. Muito bom.
Obrigado! 🙏🏻
Huh

Thanks a lot!
EXCELLENT WORK! good story/acting/cinematography, also good for you for making Dr Phil star on your short film
🤣 🤣 🤣
Kool short movie! The actress was really good, the practical effects were good too. I like that shot of her and her eyes turning black! Nicely done! Curious to see more of this and backstory
Thank you so much!😊 I’m glad you liked it!
Thank you very much!! 🙏🏻
Waste of time.... instead of watching this you better make fake fb profile and chat with any indian boy. That's more thrilling
Seems like this is satire on medicinary buerocracy Well, I remember case few years ago when doctor in my country was sanctioned for helping patient without previously doing buerocratic crap (to much decades under communism, I guess)
Good acting.

F for FANTASTIC!?
