My thoughts go to those men, the 18 , 19 year olds that hit the beach on D Day. The one just of of high school in the jungles of Viet Nam. My heart bleeds for these men. They never had the chance to grow old, have a family, they died, because it was ask of them. These ingrates today have no idea what sacrifice is. Not getting their Starbucks in the morning is a sacrifice.

The gas used was a combination of Chlorine and Bromine. It is now known as Chlorine Gas for.better terms The chemical mixture was so devastating that nothing the gas touched survived. Trees turned grey/white as their leaves fell off and the ground was littered with dead animals. The grass turned black and rocks turned white. The fortress was literally crumbling apart from the toxicity. Add in the fact that the weapons were rusting and corroding in the hands of their owners as the metal turned rusty as the metal dissolved. The men were covered in chemical burns that bled from the eyes, which hax turned yellow, the ears, and mouth. They were also suffocating as their lungs literally dissolved in their chests forcing them to cough up chunks of their insides. They covered strips of cloth in water or urine and wrapped their faces only to learn that it made the effects WORSE and since the Russians had no chemical protection it was far more devastating. When all but 60 of the 2000 russian troops were dead, they actually charged OUT of the trenches towards a hail of gunfire at 7500 Germans who were so mortally terrified of the sight of seemingly UNDEAD horde rushing them they couldnt retreat fast enough and ended up killing roughly 100+ of their own in the attempted escape

It's not often that you have known a great version of a song for all your life, then a new version comes out and it's even greater. Not often. But this is one of the few. I love it. The Animals told a great story in a great way. In this it feels like Erik tells his story.

Erik does write his own music as well as making covers. Some of this songs he use a s prize wheel to get inspection and to challenge him self. He calls it Wheel of forTunes. Erik is one of my top favourites. Just a thought....doesn't look like you've reacted to any Dead South yet. Their most popular song, In Hell I'll Be in Good Company, has 432M views. However, I like some of their other songs better. Eg Black Lung, Broken Cowboy, You Are My Sunshine. Most of theirs are original songs but they do some covers too. They are Canadian, mostly Bluegrass....I call it updated bluegrass. In an interview they said that folks have a hard time labeling a genre on them and as a result, they get played in various places. Nate, the lead singer, said they aimed for bluegrass and didn't quite make it. I think you'd like them. Cheers!

Erik and Jona have created a masterpiece with this cover that I immediately fell in love with.
