Nice video series. Very helpful and informative. We sailed to Bermuda out of Brooklyn on MSC last month. It was our first cruise ever, and we were VERY disappointed! The MSC staff and crew were incredibly disorganized. The food - both main dining room and buffet - was awful! I had veal osso buco that was so over cooked that it was rock hard and I had difficulty identifying the meat from the bone. Quite frankly, the food at our local QSRs is much better than the food in the main dining room on the Meraviglia. Can’t imagine what it was like for you with the pools and pool decks closed due to the weather. With the VERY LIMITED television programming available (4 or 5 channels), you can’t even wait out the weather in your room by catching something good on the tv. And the promenade is just a gaudy shopping mall designed to separate you from your hard-earned money. All-in-all, we were very disappointed with the experience and wouldn’t ever consider sailing with MSC again. In fact, I’m skeptical about sailing with other cruise lines as a result of our experience on the Meravigli.

The buffet madness is as bad as Costa-not enough seating, free for all. I love the atrium main gallery. Shows look good! Fresh mozza maker.

Cabin seems square instead of retangular, better flow but it may be too far from the TV, but I guess you can just listen to it at night. It has te be better than Costa!

Before the Covid shutdown, my Brother and I took our families on a HAL cruise of Norway that started and ended in Amsterdam. We were on the MS Prinsendam shortly before it left the HAL fleet. There were some 600+ passengers on the ship. We visited with our cousins and two Aunts in the Oslo area and meet up with a cousin in Trondheim. It had been a while since I had visited Norway. Sounds like you had a "fun" time getting to Southampton.

I found the cruises right after the start up were fantastic due to 50% capacity sailings. I took my wife on a holiday cruise in the Caribbean for 10 nights. We had a blast.

Amazing experiences that will be different than what everyone else gets. It would however suck if you ended up with no ports, like a transatlantic cruise.

I'm curious about the status match. Did they only status match one of you? Or did both of you get the perks? Looked like only one of you went to the spa. I have top status with Hilton & Hyatt. Will use one of them to match to the top MSC status, curious if my partner also gets benefits or not.

My first cruise was last week on the Norwegian Bliss in Alaska. I have a weeklong cruise on the meraviglia and then a short one on the seashore. Then I’ll have Cruises on carnival on an older ship and on a Royal Caribbean ship in December. by the end of this, I’ll know which line I like, the MSC Cruises are certainly the best value, but I’m sure all these lines are very different

Really like that you show the route to the places visitors will go to. Definitely not what I pictured such a large city to be like! Absolutely loved the meals you had for lunch; craving a delicious noodle bowl now!

how long do the ship stay docked in ocean cay?

I’ve been watching a variety of MSC videos as I prepare for my first one with them. I’ve done a few cruises with three different lines, but until recently it’s mainly been ferries for me, including overnight ones. Of the three other lines I’ve been on, I’ve decided which one contains ‘my people’, which I’m not expecting MSC to be, but I worked in Europe for a year and the best reference I’ve found regarding complaints, is people not thinking about costs and expecting five star service as a one star price. Ok, not that bad but…the other is that MSC is an Italian cruise line that has only recently entered the USA market, and from what I hear the Brooklyn terminal, at least in current configuration is also relatively new, and so expectations, both by staff and passengers doesn’t always align. I enjoyed your honest review, and acknowledging one specific trip.
