Nakamichi BX-2 is an incredibly good choice for a playback deck, and a damn good recorder too.

No, it's not. But it is one of the best 2 head decks EVER made.

I had this deck a while back! Served me well. I liked the design a lot.
@@burntwaffle1743 I think they are seriously good decks. my favorite 2 head Nak deck.
@@SoloBueno1 Oh they definitely are. The sound quality and build quality for a 2 head deck is superb!
please take some lessons on : " How to record a video "
@@jorgeoraison why are your quotes a space away from the letters? Take a lesson on basic grammar, 🐝-word!
The brushed aluminium fascia looks great. I always look as to the condition of this vulnerable part of the deck.
My dad hung 4 Bose 901s from the ceiling in our den for this.......talk about nice! I have a Sansui G-6000 he gave me because he said it had a bad channel. Turns out, he had a bad speaker wire and nothing else! Talk about an easy fix! That bad boy is still crankin' btw! This SX-828 is my favorite sounding Pioneer....the only downsides to it imo are the speaker plugs(really minor actually) and the constant turning of the control knob to the A+B to power 2 sets of speakers. Sound-wise, it's the warmest receiver i've ever had....love ya Dad!!
I have a STR-7055...what is the difference?
Nice deck with a nice song. I enjoy these little showcases.
Parabéns pelo aparelho! Ele grava bem?
Perfeitamente
Very nice
Nice setup. What kind of speakers are those? Thanks.
Thanks! Wharfedale Dentons.
@@SoloBueno1 thank you.
That Sl-15 though!
SL-10, love it. You can roll cartridges like tubes since it's p mount. And finding nice p mount cartridges is fun. They don't really make them anymore, so it's about figuring out how to locate one and then possibly upgrade the stylus. I bought an entire table off of eBay just to get my AT152LP cart. Then sold table and stylus. Net cost of cart .. $20. Stylus was another story though!
@@SoloBueno1 Good deal. I love mine too. Bought it new in the '80s.
Did it come with a remote!!
I dunno. I certainly dont have one though.
It surely had one at some point.
talking heads?
Yes! Stop Making Sense, recorded on a BX-1. That deck punches so far above its weight. Hot take: there's much more difference between an average 2 head deck and a BX-1 than a BX-1 and a Dragon.
I like the BX two more. The digital counter matches the rest of the deck better. Also nice find with the denon! Sometimes it is just a simple fix.
Thanks! Agree about digital counters. Makes the BX-300 so "future 80s". The funny thing about the Denon is I promptly removed the belt after fixing it so my son can play with it- I have it hooked up to a $25 pair of Minimus 7s. No problem there, but if the tray actually ejected I'm sure that would have broken off by now. He's 2 and I'm trying to introduce him to stereo stuff in a controlled way.
Nakamichi 💪🏻👍🏻
these are well built 👍🏻
I picked up a couple of pairs of knock offs front an ebay store that'll work fine. They were a tad more expensive than the oem pair I found so I'm good now. Just waiting for them to arrive.
Got mine back...and sounding as good as ever.. but need a pair of speaker wire connectors for set C. I've seen the knock offs on the web with the twisted + terminal but they dont sit tight and flat to the panel.. Looking for OEM..!! Really like this unit.. Cheers
OEM are easy to find but more expensive. I have a few different ones that are knockoffs that work great, and I've made a few also.
do u still have it up for sale? How much are you asking? I live in San Deigo CA. Thx, let me know!
Sold a while back.
I miss mine. I got mine back in February of 19 83. I chose this deck over the cost of 1 oz of gold. At the time the BX1 was going for 235 and that matched 1 oz of gold. It was a beautiful thing but unfortunately one of the weaknesses had to do with the frequency generator captain motor that had a tendency to waiver. After a while I had to have that motor replaced which corrected that problem for a bit but then it did the same thing. So eventually I had to abandon my BX1 and move over to more inferior decks. I would play or sorry I would record without that will be so they wouldn't be mistracking because nobody else paid attention to record playback tracking linearity like nakamichi dead. So it was best to record without any dome on whatsoever and that's how I did. I miss it. I'm glad that it had existed to set the bar for a state of the art budget 2 head cassette deck.
Hi,how would you think this tuner and 7700 amp.from same series would get along with wharfedale225 (bookshelf 87db ,8ohm ?
Only one way to find out! Some may suggest more watts, power-wise I think 50 vintage watts would be fine.
For the money , this was hands down the best bang for your buck cassette deck you could get with true 20 to 20k frequency response and low wow and flutter 👌
Still have mine..since new, but in for service to tune up. Not quite running as it should but hate to give up on it...
Would've appreciated the direct audio signal so we could actually judge the sound quality.
I hear you (no pun intended). Thanks for the suggestion!
Il me semble que le tuner à l'époque était à condensateur variable, il fonctionne très bien 😊
I really need your assistance. I have an AKAI GX 286. The power suddenly went out and I have located the fuse location on the deck. However, getting access to replace the fuse is tricky. It requires moving wires and cables that look like they could break off if moved. I need to find a way to safely access the fuse to replace. Do I need to disassemble the entire deck to do so? All help much appreciated. Thank you
Few things 1. I do not know anything about fixing this machine. Locate the service manual on hifiengine.com or possibly by just googling Akai GX 286 Service manual. 2. A fuse blowing normally signals that something is wrong. Odds are you replace the fuse and then it blows again. 3. If you need more slack to move wires, it is fine to cut the zip ties that bundle them together. Just be careful. This is once you get inside. Good luck!
Oi
Champagne and engraved are one in the same. You don't get one without the other. So, it's not an added bonus if one is engraved AND champagne. Thees were prototype versions. Regular production was silver face, no engraving.
Thanks for the info!
Also, there were a few silver faced engraved within the champagne engraved run. These are even more rare than the champagne. This is not to be confused with the regular silver faced silkscreen ones.
Is that for sale
Yes, not listed yet
Update, sold
Nice one 👍👍👍
❤.... Awesome..
I've had my 6046 since 1975!
If you cant record properly please don`t post it on you tube.
Good Good 👏👏👏❤
Classic beauty 🤩
Is left not working ? i get this one tomorrow 🙂
The left works- balance and volume are on the same knob, so when I went to shift the balance to the left, I accidentally lowered the volume as well. It's hard to change balance without temporarily changing volume too on these unless you're being really careful. I don't have this anymore though.
Üctet ne kadar.
Nakamichi - great as always
cool deck
Have the speakers for about 30 years now, running flawlessly, neat sub with dual! voice coils, each 4 Ohms, so the Amp sees 8 Ohms load in sum. Back then there was not much that could beat them. Not really. To get the real thump out of it you need a high current amplifier. It's absolutely mandatory, you need a powerful class a/b Amp which is capable to deliver high current. At least 75 Amps in short transients, 2 x 100 or 2 x 120 W/channel. Then the sub becomes an absolut beast. Positioning the sub is also very important.
Those plus S speakers image soooo well
Just picked this up at an Estate Sale. Absolutely beautiful.
How do you like it
@@bryantstewart9144 flawless so far.
Weren't these in the $250 range MSRP back then?
I'm not sure, but they were not at the upper end of the line. Affordable, solid performers- nothing fancy.
