We relocated from London back in 1969 when my father's employer won computer maintenance contract there. It was ground-breaking technology for its day.

It’s sad to see it is now down to the ground I was on the roof with my dad a couple of months ago and it was a nice time now seeing it’s on the ground is horrible I don’t know why they knocked it down it could have been used for something else just didn’t want to they want to do new build shit that probably won’t last as long as the quality old school technology

Worked there for 37years. Absolutely criminal that Santander abandoned plans for a new building . Sefton Council, The Government and C.W.U stood by and did nothing. Jobs sent to Milton Keynes, Sunderland and Dagenham without a fuss. Business Banking jobs sent to India. Dave Ward the national CWU boss couldn't be bothered to come up to Bootle and fight for our jobs. Also the local head C.W.U officer a well known deputy Sefton Council leader was more interested in his property rental empire in Seaforth. Workers were let down badly by the C.W.U. Generations of families have worked at the Bootle site since 1968. These jobs have now gone forever. Levelling up isn't happening in Liverpool.
