on a nostalgia trip and i'm able to listen to this version for the first time in years and years because of this upload - thank you! I thought it was gone forever
It's been 15 years and I still don't understand why tf they cut out "you wore that red shirt that I love..." from the album version. This and the 'When I Get Home-' demos are the greatest things ever.
This version is smoother than the album version but that's not neccessarily a good thing. There's a sound of desperation in the album version that makes my heart race when I hear it, especially when combined with the video that the original lacks.
I've been looking for this version FOREVER!! That extra part at the end of the first verse is everything. This version was my most played song on iTunes for years!! Thank you
This song is perfect. I honestly think both versions are pretty similar in quality. But if I had to choose, I’d go with the Mayday Parade version, just because of how awesome Jason and Derek’s voices are.
This isn't the Mayday Version. This is from the band A Kid Named Chicago that Jason was in before Mayday. They just re did it with Jason and Derek both singing
The lines are "you wore that red shirt that i love, i'm singing songs that i wrote you, we laughed our way down the beaches, as we danced around the issue" :) thats in the 1st verse

thank GOD i really thought i was being gaslit into thinking this version didn’t exist. the vocals are so much more expressive and raw here tbh ❤
I don't know i feel like when the song goes to the break towards the end where Derek's pitch changes the album version is so much better.
Love the organ sound 😢

verse would be too long in that way.

Jason's vocals and the additional extra on the first verse. Why is it not on spotify?

My god... I'm sorry to say, I prefer the other version. This isn't bad. But I like the newer version's lyrics better.

This version is the reason why I fell in love with this band.
