wow, I had to come back and see some episodes I missed. Pretty intense storm for sure, glad you all were able to laugh your way through. There is something real about that comment, "it has to suck to be worthwhile". Those truly are the trips you remember!

Sunsets on the river is down right beautiful. A little new here but u guys r awesome. I'm hoping my buddy I can do a trip like this one day. We r thinking from the Ohio to the gulf.

I'd say you're doing a pretty good job of finding and creating a meaningful adventure along the river. You're exploring all that God has created out there and making the most of both the beauty and hardships that He has put forward, widening your view and appreciation for the world, its power and all that it has to offer. Also, I absolutely love the shot of the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers joining. So cool!

Putting a paddle in the water is like shoveling dirt... Yes it is. I've paddled a lot of waters and dig in my garden too and to get any where you have to want to. Travel safe

I read a book about a guy who did such a trip on the Rio Grande River, border of US and Mexico. He was a natural athlete who had made it up to the higher ranks of minor league baseball. And thrived despite all the paddling, sleeping outside, and all the bad food. I guess you would say he was physically tough. HIs friend on the other hand hated it and tapped out midway. He wrote an epilogue to the book where the following year he tried to repeat the trip at the height of the narco wars, only to find a dead body floating in the water along a remote stretch of the river. However I respect him and I respect you guys. Happy travels.

Last week, the river was 20 feet above flood stage at Hannibal.. L&D 23 had all the spillways open, and the tows couldnt get under the bridges. You guys are a terrible example

In the short time I spent with Dotti and the guys it was apparent she is a very special woman. The words I’d use to describe her are “naturally effervescent”. Awesome trip and vlog. Im sure uou know already but the barges wipl be the least of your worries below Baton Rouge. The river gets deeper, rougher, and theres ship traffic that creates serious wakes and draws. Please be safe.

You are getting closer to my neighborhood. Before long you will pass the bridge at Chester, Illinois where a new bridge is being constructed at mile 109.9. The biggest point of interest in my area is Tower Rock located at mile 80. It was written about by Marquette and Joliet in 1673 and President Grant kept it from being removed in 1871 by an Executive Order. A little north of it is a pipeline suspension bridge which is no longer being used and at approximately mile 81.5 is the Wittenberg Boat Club ramp on the Missouri side. They have a nice pavilion there and there may be fishermen putting in there. Most of the people who use that ramp are pretty good folk.

This is a my last day at a job I have had for 3 years and loved, but its time to make changes. Thank you guys for taking me along with you on this journey. Be careful in the barge traffic.

I am so glad I stumbled upon your channel the day before you hit St. Louis. I moved here 2 years ago from CO, and still find the river to be magical and mysterious. I am actually learning so much from your lovely adventure! I would have met you down by the river with big pile of cookies if I had found your channel a couple of days earlier!
