Yeah Hot Wheels tends not to get the 1:64 ratio right so in most castings it is bigger than other brands that stick to the ratio

Yeah agree they have really been able to draw on the popularity of the live monster trucks events. Would be good to get down to a live event soon and check it out.

@@Premium-Die-Cast I just came back from HWMT Live and it's a lot of fun. Monster Jam definitely has a bigger event though in terms of stunts etc but give HW time to cook!

Yep have noticed that, much harder to get a smooth finish but it’s more durable and the colour is more predictable as well

Yeah they have perfected miniature detailing so well and work hard to get the castings as close to the real thing at scale

True mini gts are much more scarce which I think makes them a bit more special, particularly because their production runs are somewhere between 3.5 to 6 thousand per casting, so there aren’t loads of them going around to start with.

Need to find that one now. Have also seen it in yellow and they have recently announced a red version now. But I reckon green would look sick.

Yeah fair point I have seen improvement from other castings from Mini GT. There is a Silvia I have where the ride quality is better than the Hot Wheels equivalent

Those containers are plastic, would be nice if they came in metal but then they would be much more expensive.

Yeah that’s the spirit. Yeah the added friction from the rubber won’t help when gravity is the only form of propulsion. Though do they behave better in the corners with the extra grip?

@@Premium-Die-Cast I see less drifting, but hey! drifting is cool, in my current track setup I do not have enough slope, so most of the rubber tires cars do not reach the finish line (unless using Carlomo's). With more slope, I should see better performance with rubber tires despite the friction. When installing Carlomo wheels alignment is very important, otherwise, there will be no benefits for racing

I’ve had a couple of castings that bob when being rolled, I found the rubber tyre was not on the wheel correctly and after adjusting and a bit of time it fixed the issue. I need to get my hands on a few pop race and take a good look.

I wonder if your Tarmac Works is from a different subline. One of the declared features of Global 64 from Tarmac Works is that they are supposed to roll as it is something they pay close attention to - the stance of the car, even if it means there is an area out of scale. Their other lines Road 64 and Hobby 64 they don’t make that claim that they will roll though they are more expensive. I think on those lines that are going for high detail and accuracy even if it isn’t functional. So I wonder if the one you have is from another line?

Great point regarding the windows! I suppose as soon as the scale is off on one thing, then there is no way they are going to be able to get the windows right. I’ve very few hot wheels that are true to 1:64 scale - my guess is that’s why Mattel castings don’t actually mention the scale until you get to Elite 64. Thanks for the tip regarding the camera definitely something I’m working on to improve the quality of my videos.

Yeah Mini GT make Kaido House though they are designed independently by Kaido House. The detail and moving parts set KH apart. The 7/11 I picked up from Ali Express

Thanks for your feedback, I’ll implement some of it as I develop my UA-cam journey, thought the Fast and the furious footage throughout the video would be enough to show off the rx-7 and also give some comparison to the jdm street cars that are featured like the skyline. Also the channel is all about die-cast cars

Yeah some of them can be good from a distance but as soon as you take a close up look some can look very fake

inno64 is better, however the style you get with kaido house is really nice, and the packaging is awesome

@Premium-Die-Cast I just put diecast ford focus into ebay and found quite a few. Mostly 1/24 and 1/18 but an odd 1/64 here and there

True that is a fair point - Hot Wheels can be thrown around without too much worry, just a few paint chips. Probably stems from the orange track origin
