Magibon = The GOAT
What a legend she is
Gen 4-5 online was god tier
Shofu, Flamingspade, KillerNacho, ShadyPenguin era was my childhood😂
I want to get married to someone because it's a celebration in my culture - it's more for my friends and family. If that didn't exist then I probably wouldn't bother with the whole song and dance about it.
Meanwhile gen 5 ou is known for being "chaotic"
i can agree with Shen despite not liking him all that much that this game SUCKS to SPEEDRUN!
Hey Welcome to my Podcast and now shut the hell up and: HEY HERE LOOK LISTEN!
gen 5 was the last one i played as a teenager, i liked it the least out of the earlier iterations by a wide margin. they should have stopped after 4 tbh and done something different with pokemon or made some more mystery dungeon games
The Gen 5 hatred is the single biggest reason why ever since Gen 6 Pokemon keeps pandering to genwunners. No ifs ands or buts. That hatred campaign single-handedly stunted the growth of the franchise for years and arguably to this day. We got a more serious storyline, many more cool and interesting Pokemon designs, an evil team that isn't simply comically evil, actual characters with actual motives and growth, all of that thrown away because the same people who praised "magnet, ball and rat" as Pokemon designs couldn't stand "trashbag, ice cream mimicry and gears" as designs
Wow. She looks 15 now!
Hearing her speak English with a 100 percent American accent is surreal
I believe in for every bad Pokemon, there's a good one. And nowhere is that more evident than in Gen 5 Pokemon. There's an ice cream cone Pokemon, sure. But then, there's Drilbur and Excadrill. You can even argue it goes back to Gen 1. There's Jynx. And then there's Alakazam! So there are good and bad Pokemon in every gen, yeah. That's MY opinion. OH, and fitting enough, there's a Jynx at 0:41 seconds and in the thumbnail, lol.
Film twitter’s arguing over mission impossible 3 being the worst one right now, hilarious that this popped up for me
For me, the problem is people have the wrong idea about what a successful marriage should be based on. They think it is just a commitment of love, and the ultimate/purest end-goal for any romantic relationship. This is not the understanding that you should go into a marriage with. Love is an important factor, but it should be a mandatory catalyst, not the basis of the commitment. The commitment itself should be based upon pooling your capacities and resources with those of another person, and to unify your endeavours with them to such a complete degree, that the lives you share going forward will be exponentially more capable, productive and high-quality than could ever have been achieved separately. It is about creating a two-person team with the most unified and shared focus possible, in a way that will affect every aspect of both of your lives. Potential for a better quality of home, because you pooled your funds. Potential for a larger friend group, because now their friends are potentially your friends. Potential for a greater levels of expertise and skill-sets pooled between you. The commitment to raise children together in a stable home to give them the best possible chance at life. Now you might say, 'sure, but you can do this if you're not officially 'married'. But then, if you are prepared to go all the way through the melding and/or paperwork of sharing all these things together, then you honestly might as well call it a 'marriage', because it will be just as much of a pain to extricate yourself at the end if somebody decides they want out.
Yep. Gen 5 was the last generation to actually take chances. The simpletons couldn't handle it......and now we're all doomed to mediocrity forever.
lol I love Josh
The editing in ep 9 was so unworldly terrible. I couldnt believe it. Thats the only star wars film ive only watched once. Theres got to be a better version than what was vomited out. Recently stumbled across TROS Ascendent...think that will be my second viewing.
But let’s be real, the talentless GameFreak has been making the same game for 3 decades now, even before Black & White….
go off king
Glad to know she's fine, God bless her.
Absolutely based
I very much felt that when I was watching Ep 9 in the theatre. I remember just thinking to myself "how many planets have we been by now? I lost count" and at that point they hadn't even done the memory wipe on C-3PO. It was a constant bombardment, an endless string of events connected by "and then". In a way, it felt like you were playing Fallout 4 doing as many side-quests in a row as possible. No depth, just content.
What game is this?
kind words
Still getting comments huh? Empire Wreckers has a great (long) video on 'how bad movies are made' about this movie, and how even by JJ standards (after the second star trek film he did I had seen enough to realize I'd never enjoy any of his movies ever if he didn't change or get better, which is unlikely with all the big budgets he was being thrown), it's a complete trainwreck. Mostly because he came in with a script that had already been written, and rejected, and he had much much less time to do anything, and had to start shooting while he was still writing the basic script of who what where. it wouldn't have been a good movie even if he had time, but it was really interesting to see how because of the time crunch it made all his existing filming flaws so much worse. Josh is right that 'this stupid thing to get us to the next scene that makes no sense' isn't even the worst thing about the movie, but the constant pace at which things go. You can move past a dumb (or several) dumb moments if everything else works, but disorienting nonsense editing and scene writing will instill a feeling of wrongness way more damaging then just some stupid plot hacks that everyone knows is a plot hack.
If anyone has the movie queued up, he's specifically talking about 1:07:34 in the Rise of Skywalker. I literally could not believe that what he was describing was real, that i thought he was making it up, NOPE.
JJA is like Zack Snyder all style no substance.
Snyder’s movies, while not to everyone’s taste, are at least about stuff, which Abrams’ movies are not
Snyder has more style, even if I hate the style. JJ just seems like he's successful at being generic Hollywood tripe. Just as crappy as Michael Bay, but more diluted.
I actually prefer Snyder. He's still crap, but his ideas are misguided where Abrams's ideas are impossibly generic, and I personally find that more obnoxious.
YESSSS thank you
Abrams is basically someone's failed experiment to clone Spielberg.
JJ doesn't make good movies. He makes profitable movies and that all studios care about.
Josh Sawyer has a ton of class, so this doesn't surprise me.
If he had “class” he wouldn’t of said anything negative about them.
@@bruceyboysvideos I actually generally agree with this, but some -artists- opportunists are so shameless, so lazy, and so undeserved in what they're given, that they become an exception. And J.J. Abrams is such an exception.
@@bruceyboysvideos Also wait, having class means you can't say anything negative about someone's works? That seems pretty restrictive.
@@commandershepard9920 yes, thats the definition of class dude. It means you’re above speaking negatively about another in a public form. And this isn’t him saying he simply doesn’t like them, but full on dissecting why he thinks something is bad. I mean you can suck Sawyers dong or JJ’s, makes no difference to me. But you saying he “has a ton of class” is what is dumb here. Whatever you think “having class” is supposed to mean is far from the definition. I wasn’t calling out Sawyer, I was calling out you. Your comment is an oxymoron. If you want to hold a count of praise for him that fine. Atleast know what the words you’re using means before you go on to praise him.
@@Absoluteabyssalfluidcharger you didn’t say anything there that I hadn’t already. Edit: homeboy liked his own comments🤣
Well. Nice to see I'm not the only one who doesn't like J.J. Soon as I knew he had SW 😂 the writing was on the wall.
Based and sensiblepilled
the ending made me lol
Beyond was pretty solid
Beyond was not JJ abrams
people still go back to the ice cream to this day.
Super 8 is "good" because it's just ripping off a bunch of better Spielberg movies
JJ Abrams loves the idea of film more than actual film, and once you notice it, it really makes his stuff unwatchable.
yeah, Super 8 is a bad movie. He's supposedly trying to emulate a Spielberg movie by making the kids free the sad captured alien, but said alien has already had a taste for human flesh and now it's probably going to go home and tell his friends how tasty we are and come back and eat us all. Good job, J.J., you're an idiot.
Completely unjustified hate. It's the best generation!
idk when he saw super 8 but he might want to watch it again. that movie is like the worst in terms of too many stuff happening. "okay, whats the movie about? well, we got a group of friends recording something with a super 8 camera. then they come across a secret government experiment on an alien that came from a crashed train. if that werent enough, one of the kids is dealing with the most recent lose of his mother. if that werent enough, that same kid is dealing with his father who doesnt know how to handle raising a kid alone and deal with the grief of losing his wife. if that werent enough, that father is trying to find a way to forgive the dude who called in sick who inadvertently got the mother killed. if that werent enough, a girl has joined the boys group. if that werent enough, the boy has feelings for the girl. if that werent enough, the boys best friend also has feelings for the girl. if that werent enough, the military are trying to recapture the alien and are trying to track down the boys. if that werent enough, the father of the boy is trying to track down the boys before the military does." it is more cohesive but if you stop and think about Super 8, there is just a ton of stuff happening in that movie.
For one, its more a spiritual and moral commitment to stay together, witnessed by your community (family & friends), rather than simply 'living together', or what Kant called 'a mutual agreement, to access each other's sexual organs.' Successfully married persons tend to live longer, make more money and have all-round more fulfilling lives. Not marrying, whether one admits it or not, makes relationships spurious and flighty; without commitment, your boyfriend/girlfriend of 18 years could just up and leave you for someone else, with a view akin to, 'Its not a big deal, we swore no oath.'
I'm guessing you're like...12? Or maybe a religious nut? 🤣 Please have an excuse.
If your partner thinks a lack of an official, legally acknowledged oath is all that matters after 18 years then they might just be a self-centered asshole who doesn't deserve your commitment anyway. I think his whole point was that you should be together because you love each other, not because some legal document says you're together.
My impression that I get with Abrams movies are that he thinks in terms of spectacular scenes "wouldn't it be baddass if X happened?" (absolutely brilliant eye-candy that is ultimately forgettable) and then kind of loosely staples them together with a thin plot and characters you can "like" conceptually but never get to know with any real depth because they are just kind rushed through.
Same with Emilio Pagliaviolio. "Dude, what if your SON was the main villain." "Imagine... you get to assassinate THE EMPEROR of Tamriel!" "What if the player could nuke an entire town?" And he'll insist on making these scenarios work no matter how convoluted or unearned they feel.
Zack Snyder but colorful. We have way too much media that's just eye candy with some themes here and there but no real plot or fully realized characters. Some people found excuses for stories and called it environmental storytelling but it's hard to justify that as storytelling when it is, ultimately, just more eye candy and surface level themes. Abrams just does exactly as you said.
This is basically how Hbomberguy described RWBY in his review
Another reason to respect Josh Sawyer
Reading through the comments here i find it annoying how pokemon games are only ever compared with each other (at least for the main series) which i believe is one of the things that holds them back more than anything else. Pokemon has always been the highest selling franchise/media in the world since its inception, even at times where its popularity was at its lowest, because of that almost no one ever takes a step back to ask themselves if the games can be done better or what can pokemon learn from other games to improve itself. Pokemon hasn't really changed or innovate that much over the years especially when you think about the fact that Red Blue and Green are still the highest selling pokemon games.
*"They're going toward whatever the planet is where Rey takes out the little thing and happens to be standing at the perfect fucking angle and spot to see the, whatever the dumb thing is."* Yeah, that's about a perfect summary.
Malcolm Tucker ass description of Star Wars.
Can you blame him? They're so fucking unremarkable and largely retread the same plot points from older movies with a new coat of paint.
That was so bad. Makes absolutely no sense. Not to mention the way the Death Star II totally fucking explodes in Ep 6.
JJ Abrams Projects: Great Visuals, Garbage Story telling.
the Bethesda of cinema? oh nvm, you said great visuals
Josh Sawyer playing HITMAN? Man's got good taste.
He’s using his worst movie as an example? And his Trek movies are completely different from his Star Wars movies. Idk, this guy is clearly talking out of his ass. He clearly doesn’t even remember anything other than his latest movie. I hate blanket statement “reviewers” like this.
he's not a "reviewer" though, he was just asked his thoughts off the cuff and he gave them.
Most of Abrams directorial filmography is Star Wars & Star Trek. He hasn't really directed that many movies at all.
He's not a reviewer. If you don't know who Josh Sawyer is then why did you even click on this video?
No it's not clear at all that he can't remember anything other than Abram's latest movie it's just that he's using the latest movie as an example. Often when people are trying to explain some larger point they will provide a specific example that doesn't in anyway imply that they're only aware of the thing they're using as an example. You're the one talking out of your ass. Not everybody likes your favourite hack director cry harder.
@@thatriverguy blame the youtube algorithm - I don't know who he is and got recommended this as well. That said, I share his opinion about JJ. All gas, no brakes.
Bro people switched up on Gen 5 HEAVY
He's not wrong JJA movies (and series) are all setup, no payoff.
Not sure why this video was rec'd to me randomly a year later, but you hit the nail on the head. Just watch his shitty TED Talk about the "Mystery Box" and you'll understand why it's all setup.
