    How long did you render those 500 frames? I left rendering for overnight (500 samples, 0.1 noise threshold) and from 10 PM to 6 AM only 51 frames was done 😢

    • @allthingsmarvellous
      @allthingsmarvellous 2 місяці тому

      Hey, thanks for getting in touch, I've just ran a quick test and 1 frame for me at 500 samples and 0.1 noise took 51 seconds , the frame was 1920x1920. I'm running a 3060. Importantly though i used Blender 4.01 when I tried the same file in Blender 4.1 it took 10x longer. For some reason the new version of Blender doesn't like glass/transparent stuff and struggles rendering those things quickly

      Hey, thanks for getting in touch, I think using the W of the musgrave/noise may be a good place to start. As long as the other elements are slowly moving over the course of the animation too it would give a nice repetitive but evolving effect with the music. Let me know how you get on!

    • @allthingsmarvellous
      @allthingsmarvellous 3 місяці тому

      Hey, thanks for the message. You need to add an ‘Environment Texture’ as the background like a HDRI and turn up the strength to about 40-50 this should give you a bit of refractions in the glass, I used a ‘studio’ one which had a lot of white light which works best. polyhaven.com/a/studio_small_09

    • @allthingsmarvellous
      @allthingsmarvellous 3 місяці тому

      Hey, thanks for the message, yeah sorry I’m trying to incorporate more explanation in my recent videos as someone else mentioned the same thing…. The reason all the stuff is really big is to give Blender the best possible chance of calculating the cloth simulation given there are lots of objects interacting with one another. When you are at a smaller scale you get a lot of errors and it crashes blender :)

      Hey, you need to have 'Node Wrangler' enabled in blender. This will allow you to use shortcuts to add textures and coordinates. Once this is enabled one of the options is to select the principle BSDF and then CTRL-SHIFT-T and a file window will open up, from here you can select all the texture files colour, roughness, normal etc and then it will connect the texture to the BSDF as shown in the video. Hope this helps

    Just my personal taste, but I really dont appreciate tutorials that are literally "Do this, then do this.." No understanding is gained really. For example, the Force Field you applied halfway through, I have no idea what this is doing. I get that some people are fine to blindly follow step by steps, but I'd much rather tutorials actually taught me the why, behind the how.

    • @allthingsmarvellous
      @allthingsmarvellous 6 місяців тому

      Hey, thanks for the message and feedback. I understand what you are saying and will try to be more explanatory with the elements I’m using and describing. The force you mentioned is a minus force which pulls things towards it and is used to keep the cloth in the camera frame as the transition happens. Without it the cloth would float off screen so I used it as a sort of anchor for the effect.
