Your locs are beautiful. I was paying someone to do my reties. The person charged me about $2000 to install them, then she would charge $250 every 6 weeks to wash and retie. My locs were unraveling but she never did anything about it. So I'm trying to retie my own, I did my first one Jan 21st. I did ok but on a few of them, the knot is tooo big. Does anyone know what I should do about this. I also want the 2pt method

You look like Chloe Bailey. For that price you can grown out a fro, start over and pay a couple thousand for extensions added to the full loc lol.

As a fellow 4C girlie, I absolutely love the balance between volume and length too! My hair is incredibly dense, thick and prone to shrinkage. Sisterlocs/microlocs were made for us to take advantage of all the qualities of our hair type that made life difficult as a loose natural. I still can’t get over going to my consultation and having the loctician tell me that I had the perfect hair type for sisterlocs. For the first time in my life, it feels like my hair is working for me and not against me! I remember envying those with looser curl patterns when I was a loose natural, but now that I have locs, having more coils is a huge advantage since I don’t really have to deal with slippage and my hair has loc’d a lot faster.

5000 dollars?! Whew. Sorry🤣. Your locs are gorgeous. Congratulations on your engagement btw! I think you might need to do your retightening more frequently because waiting increases the sensitivity and pain for me. (What a pain it is to do it more frequently though.)

I absolutely love your hair, though I just recently combed my locs out after 5.5 years, due to scalp irritation and loc breakage. If I could suggest if you dont already, try a satin/silk pillowcase and/or try and keep your hair up more because I found that I had more lint occurrences in the fall/winter months due to scarves and hoods. However I’d also suggest to dry your hair post wash, with a silky-texture shirt, not the typical rougher T-shirt material if you don’t already. I was able to cut down on a lot of lint and frizz with my loced hair and straight natural hair with not using a towel and a soft shirt to absorb most of the water out of my hair.
