Coming home from Australia to go to this for Paddy's day. Can't feckin wait!
In Irish, the Milky Way is called " An Bó Fionn ".....which more literally translates as " The White Cow ".......the great white cow across the sky.... And of course Inis Bó Finne is then better soul-translated as " Isle of the Milky Way "..... And why not ? No street lights there, you're in unfettered possession of the stars .
I've just come across this now. Nice job Graham.
Grâce Patricia Kelly for ever 🛐🏰🌹
Hi Graham. A lovely selection of video and photos of a magical island, also nice music to suit. 👍
Mi pl😊😊😊
Lovely
👍👍🇮🇪🍻
thank you!! my brother plays in the visiting band from Germany at the end of the video. The last piece is "Muss i denn zum Städtele hinaus" - a German folk song from Swabia.
Even a statue would suffer depression in that grey dark dank ugly looking village. No colour whatsoever. 😢😢😢
from Halifax Nova Scotia Canada, thank you : )
The landscape is so majestic, but the winters must be bitter cold.
Omg not again !
I would put the tv above the fireplace

Great to see Aberdunant how it once was ,my grandad had a static caravan here from around 1979 until he very sadly passed away .I remember having some of my best days and memories here just like you must have done Graham .I have visited since a few times with my family and daughter and it is still a wonderful place to visit even if sometimes I would prefer it to remain how I once remembered it .Thank you for the memories 🙂
This was a wonderful video of your cottage rebuild. You were all so methodical and careful in creating this sweet masterpiece. I wish you many years of health and happiness in your new abode. I would give anything to go back and live in the land of my parent's birth. You are truly blessed! ♥️
Absoulutly BREATHTAKING!! God speed soilder
Wow..just found your vids on here Graham. I left a message on one other video saying we are looking to but a cottage in Ireland and we are from Cumbria, we actually live in Whitehaven. Are your family form Whitehaven?
Hello, what an inspiration, I have loved watching your videos. We are looking to do similar. We are from Cumbria but I have family in Louth. We just need to find the right cottage.
😄 P-R-O-M-O-S-M!!!
A wonderful job well done to ye all and what a beautiful county mayo is.
I think back to 50's when people would invite friends over for dinner. Instead of visiting, there'd be a slide show of pictures taken on vacation somewhere. Now, if their presentations were like yours, I wouldn't be able to wait for the next one.😸 Thank you for the sharing. It was quite the adventure & it seems all could not have worked better. I, too, long for a sliver of green to call home, hopefully without so much labor.😊 I'd like to be able to enjoy it. Believe it is a great idea for a restroom with outdoor access. Children & folks visiting wouldn't need to wander throughout your home. Hopefully you will get to enjoy your home for many many years!
Once again in Innisfree name of music song. Beautiful
Muy bonito, lo felicito, espero algún día tener uno así

that’s a big development. crikey. .
The little cottage in the west was the dream but not without Internet. Great video. Reminds me of times not so long ago. So much work has gone into making it beautiful. Congratulations, a long and happy life enjoying the fruits of your labour..
Love what you've done with the place!
Watching in Australia Thankyou for sharing . So beautiful
Wow great job you've done
Loved every minute of this video. Merry Ann from Minnesota
I really admire the way English people travel to other countries like France and Ireland and renovate cottages and chateaux there, that the locals - like my Irish countrymen - couldn’t be bothered to do. Thank you for the wonderful work you’ve done here, which enhances my country and inspires me ! I hope you will always be very happy here.
Not in this case evidently - however cash rich buyers exploiting the availability of cheap houses / land is not always a good thing. Especially when it is done because houses / land are simply deemed as being cheap in contrast to a buyers own country. This happened in Wales in the 1970s when huge numbers of houses were bought by English buyers as holiday homes or investment properties. And it's not that absolutely no one wishes to buy these properties in Ireland. A proportion of these older properties will have legacy title deed and ownership problems - such as where the owner dies without making a will or the title of the property was not registered. These houses unfortunately are unlikely ever to go on the market. This is an all too common problem in rural areas in Ireland. Its also a fact that banks will often refuse mortgages to Irish buyers where these properties are deemed risky collateral in terms of mortgage foreclosure. That and whilst they are cheap - the cost of renovations are often over and above what first time buyers or lower income buyers can afford. The marketing and buying of these properties unfortunately means that the prices of other properties rise and the cycle of local people not being able to get mortgages or not being able to afford to buy a house continues.
I don't think its a case of they couldn't be bothered too. Must people can't up sticks and live in rural Ireland. People need to live close to where they work and near services
@@StarMonkiesTrue I think theres a big difference between the idea of "can't be bothered" and having to live within commuting distance of employment tbf. But that said huge numbers of people do live in rural Ireland. But as in the case of those who as first time buyers or similar who would buy these properties - mortgages can be a huge issue as the banks don't like lending on properties which often require considerable upgrading on top of the purchase price to get them to a habitable state. It's something that needs to be addressed imho.
Good job well done!
Thank you so much I have enjoyed this journey it’s a beautiful place.🇺🇸 I love Ireland myself. I was born in Cork city.
Its so beautiful
Aww, they are ADORABLE! I would love a Cavalier or a Cavapoo. Will you please tell me what breeder you bought your puppy from, please? Thank you.
Lovely building but no longer an Irish cottage , beautiful home
What a truly beautiful journey, and a wonderful home! Anyone who spends time here will know love! Bless you all!
Beautiful 💚
Beautiful
A credit to all concerned. You took your time and done it right. It's great that you had the foresight to buy and then develop your cottage to what it is now. All too often around Ireland we see houses like that fall into disrepair and ruin. Thankfully not in your case. Well done.
Where did the cottage go in the vid? .. I saw it at the start but lost track of it along the way
So did I!!!
