It's got a really nice tone when you are regularly driving in comfort mode. The borla in comfort you can barely hear. It's a personal preference, but just the way it sounds, especially with valves open, you can be heard pretty far away. It's something you have to hear in person. I also like the valve functionality of the mbrp more as it stays more open you can tell fairly well when you are barely touching the throttle. Borla requires bit more throttle engagement for valve to open. But yeah, the deep tone of the mbrp really sounds sweet, almost like you are driving a mini GTR. Another thing is i definitely feel like i pickup more torque from the mbrp probably due to the bigger pipe diameter of 2.5 inches instead of 2.2 by borla.

@ oh that’s interesting I didn’t know the valve opening functionality was affected by the type of exhaust you had. I figured it would be all controlled by the cars computer and that the valves would open and close at the same throttle regardless of brand of exhaust. Interesting that you felt the MBRP opened quicker/at lower throttle compared to Borla. Thank you for the insight! It sounds like I would prefer the MBRP from what you’re saying here.

​@fbx94x Yes it's been an expensive exhaust journey but i am super happy with how the mbrp active just sounds. Just make sure you get some proper exhaust tips for it similar to what I have. I do have videos of how the mbrp sounds driving on my channel thay you should check. It's a really sweet raw deep tone. With the downpipes honestly the mbrp might be even louder than borla from what I've heard so far. So i would caution to start with stock secondaries first.

No i only had to remove the stock OEM exhaust rings. I got 2.25 " inlet (57mm) 4.5" outlet. (115mm). These are perfect fit not too big. I tried 5 inch outlet tips and they end up rubbing/touching the bumper so I don't want that vibration. You do need some space to allow some movement.

It came as a standard option on the 2022+ model years. There are aftermarket modules you can install if you have an earlier model year.

Yes the exhaust just like the mbrp pro come with valve extensions that you have to install or else the springs are too short. Works really amazing. They only open when you are in sport or custom mode and close when you are not using throttle. It's how its designed to work (active exhaust). Honestly it sounds better and the car has better lower end torque. When I had the valve always open with the wireless controller the car felt like it had less lower end torque.

Hey sorry didnt check the comments. I have a wireless valve controller setup that plugs into the factory wiring and allows you to keep valves fully open or closed. In stock configuration when you turn on the car the valves stay closed. Even putting car in sports mode does not open them until you start accelerating. So the valve controller allows you to overwrite that and you choose when you want it open or closed. I might go back to the stock configuration again now that I am about to get the mbrp pro active put on soon. This is the valve controller on amazon (its unavailable now): a.co/d/iEEOUMu

The valves open only in sport/custom mode. They stay closed during comfort/eco mode. That's how the active valve works and it's how the car is designed to operate. I had a wireless valve controller but I felt like I was loosing lower end torque having valve always fully open so I put back the stock wiring and it's far better.

Sure i can record a video. There is already a pretty detailed review video on youtube already but its with the stock secondaries. I just actually got the newer borla active catback installed last week. They are the same exhaust but with valves and slightly different inner muffler piping. I would say it sounds less raspy and more refined than the non valved borla version. Drone with the non valved is definitely noticable when on the freeway going uphill. Everyone has different drone level tolerance. Now that i can close valves in comfort/eco mode the drone difference is quiet noticable. If i had to rate it i would say before drone was maybe a 5/10 when now its 1/10 almost entirely gone. Remember though that only the 2022+ stingers have the valved exhausts. Other options exists too for 18-21 stingers but they are fairly expensive and don't sound same as borla. The jun bl is like 3k alone. They make a 18-21 and 22+ model that has ECV you can wirelessly close the valves. Nice but 3k is expensive. I never heard it in person since our cars are just so rare to see on the road alone. Honestly my setup right now is the most perfect to me. Control over sound when you want it quiet with much less drone and then screaming loud when you want to have fun. I am going to add a wireless valve control to my setup so i can fully open and close them whenever i want. That will be the end of my exhaust journey. 😀

Stock turbo with stock BOV and stock primaries. I do have a K&N typhoon cold air filter. 😁

​@33rdGemini i also have the borla catback alongside the ark downpipe. I really just love the tone and growl the borla catback has. Exhaust tips are also needed to reduce drone and enhance the sound so it doesn't bounce back into the rear bumper. I had the mbrp pro before and swapped to borla. Both sound great. All a matter of taste what exhaust tone appeals to you more. You can add the ark downpipe to stock exhaust. It will help increase flow and sound a bit but nowhere near a proper catback will sound. Stock mufflers are really restricted.

@@Xetenor Your borla system sounds dope! Did you find that after installing the ark downpipe (re-)introduced rasp with the higher flow? I have a catback system (Lozic/Maintec EVC) and found it was super raspy at 2500-3000 RPM. I ended up installing Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonators for reducing rasp + exhaust tips for reducing drone. Now the exhaust is just slightly louder than stock. I want the nice clean tone from the resonators but more volume - do you think the ark downpipe will help?

@@klvnpremium853 Just noticed your reply. In this video I had the borla for 18-21 stingers which tends to be a bit raspier but once I added the ark downpipe I did not notice it get raspier. it got far louder, throatier, more exotic and gave really sweet burbles when you are decelerating to a stop. Also really like the lower rpm growl that you can notice far more. I think in your case adding the ark downpipe sure will wake up the catback and since you have also exhaust tips and resonators it should sound more clean. I now have the newer borla active catback for 2022+ stingers and I must say it is my absolute favorite. They did do some inner piping changes on the mufflers but having that valve system work with the stock system works so brilliantly. Your cold starts will be more quiet since it starts with valves closed. Also always recommend to keep the stock parts just in case. I think for your case it would be cool to add the ark and see how it pairs with the resonators you have now. I know those vibrant resonators also cut down a lot on sound so car basically sounds stock as you said. But at least you'll have a more cleaner tone with less rasp but louder volume. Give it a shot I think you'll love it! :)
