Falcons are good ambushers, quick stealthy and very smart, lost plenty of pigeons to falcons ambushing techniques, but up in the air the falcons almost have no chance if the pigeons are already flying. Good video👍

Goshawk is soaring, not showing any serious interest in the pigeons. Pigeons flying in caution mode, reading the behavior of the hawk. Very interesting to see starlings at that height, (probably insecting ?) also sensing that the hawk is not serious. Lovely video, thanks for showing.

Peregrine falcon starting at 5:26. Goshawks and Peregrines hunting our pigeons is a good thing, pigeons have co-evolved with them for millions of years. What we see is just a continuation of this ongoing process, it's inevitable, survivors become the breeding stock, it's always been this way.

Not to the falcon, but the hawk got one later. The problem is when the falcon chases them up in the sky and they dive down to the loft, and the hawk is waiting for them there.

Thank you for being open to new ideas about pigeons. They are amazing creatures, if you have the interest and time to discover them, but this hobby usually gets on you in childhood.

i love it...choice of music is funny and gives it a real dramatic touch. Makes me smile and wanna hug all your birds. For me pigeons just where like i assume for most people the rats of the air. In Berlin and other cities they just look stupid, dirty and unhealthy. But your video makes me discover and curios about these great birds. Just checked your webside and played the game. Really cool. I read that some of these pigeons are preyed on by hawks and eagles... do owners get to trace what happened to lost pigeons? Did you find out?

nicely made video...I have to say, I shed a tear or two...Good racers...I wish my homing pigeons were that good...mines are all lost after the 40 mile training toss.

hey there ^^ me and my dad were watching some movies about pigeons and well, I must say, I'm not really a huge fan of those things.. but after this it really shows how beautiful the sport is ^^ it's also the best vid I've seen so far :D I must say it really is a great vid ;p

Where do you see captive birds? Even you as a human are captive in the house when you sleep or when it's a bad weather outside. What about budgies or canaries that stay captive all their lives in a tiny cage? Now that's captive.
