Been here… but play it in rain and wind! A full nuked 7 iron went 260 or 80 yards! That was fun!, and Irish golf. Sometimes Theon,y shot is to aim for the golf path because the wind is too strong to make the fairway! Why play in conditions like that? Otherwise you might not play for days or weeks! Same for doonbeg - had hit into the hillside rough on the short par 3 to hold the course otherwise the wind takes it into the ocean. Manufactured shots. Fun days.

Brian, what a year you've had and thanks for all the entertainment and enjoyment you gave us in the work society. You're such a nice down to earth person with an unbelievable talent, yet you're almost embarrassed to speak about your amazing results of 2024. I absolutely learnt so much from you in Tulfarris on the very wet day where your talent was very evident to me from the first shot and you had 2 birdies and an eagle ( very nearly 2 eagles ) in the first 3 holes I absolutely knew you had a story to tell which you did. Brian, onwards and upwards follow your dreams as not many of us ever do. And thanks for the tip. Damien ( work society).

I don't think most golfers are good enough to justify the cost of a fitting and expensive clubs. Practice, practice, practice would serve 90% of players before all of this fitting stuff. Seriously I'm a 2.3 hcp and unless you can reproduce your routine and swing all else is not going to help your game much. Just my honest 2 cents. However a good golf pro can help your game the most with quality lessons.

Was at Clandeboye a few years ago to play in an Open event which they had most Sundays. Weather was awful so number of people playing was very low. So I left without playing and decided to drive to my hotel in Belfast. While I was parking my car someone drove into it. All in all a bad day. Would love to go back though as it looked like a really nice set up.

I enjoyed that, lived not far from there for a while. Good to see the course up close.

Played it Monday, Very scenic, agree with the second guy, you wouldn’t want to play it regularly, once was enough for me. One bit of advice is if it’s very windy stay in bed, it’s a course for single handicap golfers.

Played County Down with my son. Experience of a lifetime. Such a unique course and a enjoyable walk. Few blind tee shots however a good caddy will give direction. 9th tee outstanding view.

Portmarnock is a fair but tough links you not mention The Island, European, Waterville and then there is Ballyliffen (2) courses and Rossapenna (3) courses and Lahinch, Ardglass, Royal Portrush, Portstewart, Ennis rose, Rosses Point, Ballyconneally, in fact Ireland has a multitude of great links courses any visitor will be spoilt for choice there are so many here.

You need to go to Rossapenna the three courses are fantastic.

God damn it, I’ve just said I’m finished building my bag and then someone handed me the jailbird and now I’ve just seen this video. Guess I’m off to Juliet for a fitting 🤦🏻‍♂️
