Heike's Furniture Art
Switzerland
Приєднався 15 вер 2021
Hi everyone, welcome to my channel. My name is Heike. Originally German from Bavaria, I live in the French part of Switzerland in the Valais with my family. Also partly in Malta, a beautiful Mediterranean island.
Both places inspire me with my creations. On one side it's the mountains with their ever changing face, lakes, pasture land and a lot of greenery and on the other side the sea, heat, drought, cactus, the most gorgeous bougainvillea and a historical as well as architectural firework.
My favorite quote is "Art feeds your soul". It definitely feeds mine. I am passionate about taking old world pieces and breathing into them new life. When I paint and create I'm in my happy place. Furniture is my canvas. I love experimenting with techniques. I adore patina, rust, layers and textures. Wether achieving it through the tools I use, the paint or the embellishments, I tend to work intuitively.
Join me on my creative processes and journeys. Happy watching!

Great chair & process! Thank you!
Thank you for liking the armchair 😃 Very much appreciated
Great tip Heike! Did you use steam in the iron?
No I don't use steam 😄
Recently I audited your UA-cam Channel. Your video quality is good but your videos are not getting more views because of SEO problems. If you want, I can fix your problem.

Hi heike , love it as always yr work never fails to amaze me cheers
Aw dear friend, thank you
You are Amazing! Thanks❤
Thanks so very much ❤
Are the pieces that you use all decoupage paper? The girl power, etc.?
Yes, girl power is a tissue paper but i also use book pages for example in other sections. Also I do my own gelli prints and use that as well. I usually keep all left overs from my decoupage and check what i could use in this kind of work 😁
WOW! This looks amazing!
thank you so very much for liking it. I appreciate

Hi Heike, Can I make my own decoupage papers using tissue paper and printing my own photos?

It’s just so Heike. Nothing more to say ❤❤❤❤
😅🤣 Thank youuuu
Hi Heike, I would appreciate it if you could tell me what you use to clean the bag before you decoupage it and paint it. Thank you Heike❤.
Hello Maryka, I generally wipe the bags down with some vinegar & water mix or some alcohol to get the grease off. And then just paint ahead 🥰
@@heikesfurnitureart9365 thank you my friend, thinking of giving it a try. Appreciate you taking the time to answer.
@@maryka7771 you're welcome

thanks so much Paul, appreciate 🙃
Beautiful, as always! ❤
thank you Kate for your kind words
Where do you get your pictures from?
Why do you use wax before paint?
I've been using this technique for a while now. It's so much more efficient (and so much softer in the end result) because you don't have to wait till the watered down/dyed fabric layer dries completely. Which can take several days as you don't want to have mold in your fabric and it takes a few layers till all is covered in my experience. the end result is also more crunchier than with the wax method. I haven’t had any complaints from my clients. It holds up perfectly well. Just like with any piece it has to cure properly.
Thank you I love your work. I am going to try my 1st decoupage chair and will try the wax method 😊
@@michellegierke410Great! Good luck 😊 i have a step by step tutorial on this on my website. Should you be interested here’s the link heikesfurnitureart.com/tutorials/
Absolutely stunning!! Love the idea of using the drywall tape for texture!
thanks so much for liking it Michelle. It was a fun project 😃
Wow beautiful! ❤
🥰 Thank you Sonia
Heike I love this so much and wish the blending part was in real time so I could follow your technique. Do you happen to have another tutorial showcasing how you blended the colours just like on this table? Thanks for sharing ❤️❤️❤️
thank you Sonia for liking this 🤩 Unfortunately I don't have a "slow motion" of the process. It's just too long. Very sorry
Luv ur work … she looks awesome
Thank you very much. I appreciate
This is so beautiful! Love the texture under the paper ❤
thank you for liking this. Yes, texture under decoupage is so cool - i love the results

I definitely will. Your work is very interesting.
Music to loud voice to low, but cute idea.
thank you for your feedback. You're right it was too loud, I wasn't yet able to change the volume. If you look at later videos you might see a difference 😁
Heike! So beautiful xoxo. Definitely going to try this. Would you use the same process on a leather chair? I just picked on up yesterday. Thanks in advance!! xo Kim
thank you so much for your kind words ! No, on a leather chair I don't use the same process. I just paint it 😅 There is a written tutorial on my blog on my website where I work on a "faux leather" chair and explain the process 😁😉
Thank you so much! @@heikesfurnitureart9365
