have the same lights in my fridge and 3 times had to change just the board in the freezer section only .

What do you recommend if the plastic cover comes off but the foam doesn’t? Just continue to wait for it to defrost more?

awesome video, My wife and I never would have attempted this without your video. We noticed the refrigerator was cracked behind the panel that we replaced. I filled it with JB weld for plastics hoping that would solve the problem of air getting inside. In your video we also noticed that there was a crack in your fridge. Wondering if that is why it is freezing up? Hopefully this fix works for another 8 years.

I believe this is my problem with my Samsung fridge. The fan was making noise because of the ice buildup. Well this new panel eventually do the same or is the heater different on this part compared to the old one?

I had the fault C21 code and after watching this video and several other videos I ordered this part DA31-00287B Refrigerator Evaporator Fan from Amazon it fixed my fridge that wasn't getting cold I have the Samsung Model# RF27T5241SR had it three years. This is the fan that is in the inside bottom freezer drawer behind the gray panel. Easy fix and saved over $500 for repairs by doing it myself. The fan only cost $25 on Amazon

Are there any refrigerator brands that have the least amount of issues with this. Luckily my Samsung is still under warranty but ive had this issue 3 times and dont want another Samsung.

We did this today - following your exact instructions. I ordered the part based on your detailed list. This works GREAT! The person who installed the light said the instructions were easy to follow for anyone. One thing to note - if someone chooses the wrong light to replace -that is - the one that is not burned out - the new lights will blink - we tried that. When the correct light is replace - all 3 lights work very well. I almost need sunglasses to look in my refrigerator now! Thank you. You are a genius. Have a great day.

Hi. What is the original symptom? My machine turns on, I select any cycle, I press start and it does not fill with water, it does not turn on the water pumps, I just hear a noise from the motor that you replaced. Thanks

My fridge temp is uneven inside. And won’t get colder than 51 degrees. The freezer is really cold as well. Reading -8. The beverage drawer is cold too freezing bottles water. Will this be more likely a fan issue?

Excellent... This is the best explanation as to why this defrosting element fails over time... that I have read in UA-cam/elsewhere. I believe this chap is saying... 1: debris may collect over time in the drain (say, onion skins) 2: backup in the drain will affect the efficiency of the defrosting activity at the top 3: frost/ice at the top will cause failures in the foam and further affect defrosting at the top 4: an additional defrost heater at the top may/will help, but is a hack 5: the front panel must seal well to ensure that less humidity gets inside the back panel 6: the real problem, the drain, maybe fixed with a longer copper/metal strip being inserted into the drain... and coupled with the existing main defrost heater I have looked carefully at the old and new panels in this YT video. I do not see material differences between them, save wear on the old panel. -- In my case, after eight (8) years... ice began to build up and the fan made a noise. I removed the front panel to find ice at the top and not at the bottom. Water had got into the foam and frozen. I carefully over 2-3 hours sequeezed out the frozen water... using a hair dryer and paper towels. My panel (foam) does not appear to be worn (no broken bits). I will have to do another careful check. I will do the following: 1: purchase the additional heater for the top ($30) 2: purchase the addition to the drain ($10), to reduce freezing 3: carefully review how the foam seals in the panel function 4: properly re-install the old front panel, ensuring that the panel is pushed high and screwed carefully in, so that the edges make a proper seal. -- Question: A: I notice that the entry point for the refrigerant at the very top... the black foam stuff is being pushed into the frig area as a result of subsequent freeze ups. Does this matter? Observation: - I can use the Force Defrost Diagnostic Mode on the front door of the refrigerator - Control/Display Panel. This appears to defrost the frig, without taking the panel off. Is this correct? I note, that the compressor is OFF when the Force Defrost Mode is on ('rd'). - the Samsung people who designed the software/user errors codes were definitely HIGH when they did the design, as there is no logic to the assignment of Diagnostic Codes. I am rather disappointed, as no credible design group would arrive at such an outcome. The next refrigerator that I buy, I will check the error code logic/terminology first, as this may be an indication of core competency. -- Conclusion: The refrigerator is now defrosting with the additional heater cord wrapped around the defrost coil. You will have to cut/snip the 'finger' thing to fit into the drain hole. I used a Dremel tool to cut/grind the old finger thing off. I put the refrigerator into Demo Mode while I performed the changes. It is useful to learn the Modalities for both Diagnostic and Demo Modes. Force Defrost (nr) is useful. It times out in 20 minutes and stops beeping. I found it a little difficult to snap the front panel back on. It did not 'seat' well. After moving some of the wires around it fitted more readily. The 'white screws on both sides at the bottom of the front panel are barely long enough.

I have trouble with freeze-ups during periods of high humidity.

I just replaced mine with the help of this video. But I noticed the new Amazon panel is not as bright as the previous light was. Is that normal since not factory quality? Also the other lights came on as described but also quite dim. Any suggestion?
