1969 Ford BRONCO Restomod
We take a trip to @GatewayBronco and get a close look at one killer restomod Ford Bronco build process, done by Gateway Bronco. Picture this: a classic 1969 Ford Bronco, all vintage charm on the outside, but under the skin, it's packing a modern punch.
Here’s the scoop:
Engine: They’ve dropped in a 5.0L Coyote V8 engine. This isn’t just any engine-it’s a beast from the modern Mustang lineup. It’s got the power and reliability to make this Bronco roar like never before.
Transmission: To handle all that new muscle, they’ve paired the engine with a slick, modern 10 speed automatic transmission. This isn’t just about going fast-it’s about smooth, reliable performance every time you hit the road.
Suspension: Forget the old bumpy ride. The suspension system has been completely upgraded. We're talking modern coilovers and reinforced parts, making this Bronco ready for anything, from city streets to rugged trails.
Brakes: With great power comes the need for great stopping force. They’ve installed high-performance brakes, complete with larger rotors and robust calipers, ensuring you can stop on a dime when you need to.
Interior: Step inside and you’re greeted with a perfect blend of old and new. The interior keeps that classic Bronco vibe but adds modern comforts. Think new seats, updated gauges, and premium materials for a ride that’s as comfy as it is stylish.
Exterior: The body’s been meticulously restored, keeping those iconic Bronco lines but with a fresh paint job that makes it pop. It’s a head-turner for sure, with a clean, polished finish that screams vintage cool.
This Gateway Bronco restomod isn’t just a car-it’s a statement. It’s about taking something timeless and making it better than ever with modern tech and performance. If you’re into classic rides with a twist, this build is pure eye candy and engineering marvel
The Ford Bronco is a true icon of its era. A little history we learned before visiting Seth Burgett and Gateway Bronco:
Back in 1966, Ford decided to throw its hat into the ring of off-road vehicles, aiming to take on the likes of the Jeep CJ-5 and the International Harvester Scout. The mastermind behind this move was Donald N. Frey, the same genius who had a hand in creating the Mustang. With Paul G. Axelrad working on the design, they whipped up a vehicle that was as rugged as it was versatile.
The Early Years (1966-1977)
1966 Debut: The first Bronco rolled out with a boxy, no-nonsense design, ready to tackle any terrain. It came in three flavors: the wagon, the half-cab, and the roadster. Under the hood, it packed a 170 cubic inch (2.8L) straight-six engine that churned out a modest 105 horsepower.
Power Boost: Soon enough, Ford realized the Bronco needed more muscle. Enter the 289 cubic inch (4.7L) V8 in 1966 and later the 302 cubic inch (4.9L) V8. These engines turned the Bronco into a real powerhouse.
Design and Features: The early Bronco was all about simplicity and strength. It had a solid front axle, four-wheel drive, and an interior that screamed durability. It quickly became the go-to vehicle for outdoor lovers and rural folks who needed something tough and reliable.
Key Moments for the Bronco in history:
1969 Upgrade: In 1969, the Bronco got a facelift with a new grille design. Plus, you could now get it with power steering and an automatic transmission, making it a lot easier to handle.
Baja Bronco: In 1971, Ford teamed up with racer Bill Stroppe to create the Baja Bronco, a special edition designed for off-road racing. This bad boy came with performance upgrades like a roll bar, reinforced bumpers, and a beefed-up suspension.
The Ford Bronco had a lasting impact on automotive history and became a cultural icon. By the late 60s and 70s, the Bronco had cemented its place as a symbol of adventure and freedom. Its tough looks and even tougher performance won it a loyal following. Today, the early Bronco is a hot item for collectors. Whether restored to its original glory or modified into a restomod like the one we take a ride in at the end of this video, these Broncos fetch top dollar at auctions and among enthusiasts.
The early Ford Bronco isn’t just a vehicle; it’s a piece of automotive history. Its blend of classic design and robust performance has made it a timeless favorite, and what @GatewayBronco does with these time machines only proves the enduring appeal of this classic truck.

Why freight, and transportation not allowed? No love for the truckers. Messed up.
It's kinda ridiculous the regular public can't get in but oh well
It’s sucks for the general public but you have to keep in mind that it isn’t a car show. It’s an industry trade show. People go there to conduct business.
More money than brains... Just sayin'.
I wonder if anyone ever got the LEGO Ford Mustang Creator set, out of curiosity?
Ugly front bumper. Very ugly rims
If I was to work at an auto parts store like O'Reilly's, would i be able to go to SEMA?
You couldn’t get a registration on your own on account of being an employee. O’Reilly’s would have to register you.
@@GearHeadTour ok
Would have been nice if you would have shown all the stops in assembly to the vette.
Not a sleeper it’s a whole coma
Loose a lot2 of ground clearance. Kind of makes it a bad design.
It doesn’t impact ground clearance at all. The bars run alongside the frame rails, not below.
yeah time stamp 2;01 you can clearly see them stick out making ground clearance less on the car. Better to get a old factory set off a Convertible.
He did not bury it because of his wife smh
explain.
Good looking truck
Weird porn intro
I think this what dreams are made of!😮
That's quite a combination!
My family and I saw this awesome Vette at a Taco Bell in Mt.Washington KY. We met the owner inside and he was kind enough to show the the car after we finished eating. Very nice guy and very awesome build.
Thanks for sharing! Super nice guy, for sure. We loved meeting him at Fante's Cars & Coffee in Louisville.
PT Snoozer ;)
She look like she likes going fast 🙂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
lol, don't laugh at my misery.
Beautifully and perfectly customized!
Love the seats❤
Super clean
Extremely tastefully done. It’s one of those cars you look at and know it been modified, but you can’t immediately point out the modifications.
Yep!
aaahhh....the ol Part Time cruiser.....
So sad I hope they make new money on stupid videos
He gon make it to a Benz out of that Datsun
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Guilty.
Terry is the best!
so i plan on doing side exist exhaust going too the rear along the frame rail , do you recommend this / would you think it would interfere with chassis bar?
Beautiful ❤️
It’s a shame that he doesn’t have any money. /s
In Normal Mode, keeping up with traffic, no crazy stuff..it will get 15-18 mpg..guaranteed.
Pretty respectable for a car with that kind of power
I"d love to hear what the Cuda and Super Bee sound like.
You are so right. We dropped the ball by not asking to start it up
Wow. That guy is as good as any of the famous builders out there.
The build quality of this cuda was off the charts. As good as any pro built car out there.
I just realized this was a car vid 😳
😂😂😂
Cheaper than hanging out at the craps table
Can't argue with that.
The GT3 RS is a sick car
I'm down.
They even do offer the pickup service to your hotel if you don't want/can't drive up to the track :D Also, and you can delete if not allowed, here's my trip within a Mustang GFT500 of 800+ hp :D ua-cam.com/video/d0T3UjK41vs/v-deo.htmlsi=ngUvg-bHIgmAllDx
Sounds like a beast
WORTH. EVERY. PENNY.
Next time I'm in Vegas I'm making @VegasShuffle go
You can see the power in it when he presses on the gas and shifts.
Do you have to be 25 to drive it, I understand to rent the car itself but what about just driving it.
All drivers must be listed on the rental contract and meet the requirements.
@@GearHeadTour so I have to be 25 to drive it
@@gabedaniels367 yes
@@GearHeadTour thanks for saving me the headache, yet I am devastated.
Clutch release linkage arm was always bending.. Otherwise third gear burnouts. 70s
Believe or not Chrysler is looking into it !
