Yes, theory prioritised over pragmatics, if you can do, you teach and make up theories. This is what happened to family therapy in the U.K.

Brilliant video describing what primary care and being a family doctor should be all about. This team models how to be a family. The use of the reflecting team approach, attending to people talking about us in attentive and generous ways is therapeutic without describing itself so. Of course I know these people but that makes it even better. Jack Czauderna, Retired Family Doctor

Thank you for sharing your reflections, Barry. Let me please disagree with your doubt about you not having charisma! I have held onto your ideas, particularly about the safe/unsafe certainty/uncertainty since I discovered them years ago now. This video has given me so many more ideas and inspiration for my ongoing cases. Couldn't be more grateful.

Sorry to have mangled up my references. This is the Goldner et al paper I referred to as 'exemplary' .. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1545-5300.1990.00343.x ... and this is a review of the Beebe and Lachmann book that I mention right at the end ... www.acat.me.uk/reformulation.php?issue_id=5&article_id=84
