Part Four - Preparedness
In the preparedness video I review a Paddle Preparedness document I use in my lesson that help you understand the core information you need to lookup and know to understand what to expect while you are paddling single or multi day outings.
I also review where to find information in Windy, and look at other online website and resources that contain valuable information.
This is part four of a four part workshop, Staying Safe on the Water - Wind, Waves, Tides and Preparedness. See the full blog post on my website to view the entire workshop.

    Great video I'm new at this and did what you should never do. I tried to board mine standing up and lost my balance and hit the dock. Luckily I didn't hit my head. So you need to get on your knees board the board push away from the dock then stand up. Makes perfect sense

    Good point. And feet behind you not under the board. I have observed that a angle of 15 to 20° to the aft quarter of the board is probably going to be best. This is something that I will be practicing on the 15th August. Taking hold of the central handle is also necessary to do so. As said before. I will be practicing this - accordingly.

    what about a wetsuit jacket and boardies?

    • @DrewClimie
      @DrewClimie 2 роки тому

      Hi Rich, thanks for the comment. A wetsuit jacket and boardies can work for sure, if there is a chance of getting wet or sitting a lot I'd still lean towards a shorty or shorts with a neoprene lining as you can loose body heat quickly from your groin area. Especially when evaporation is a factor.
