Invisible Cities is so good! Very imaginative and cinematic, not much of a plot but each city/chapter is so fascinating. I unfortunately did not enjoy Saltwater :/ Edit: a small suggestion: it would be great if you read the blurbs of the books you mention or described them in a bit more detail, it would make it more interesting for anyone watching:) you do it for some but not for all, and there were some there in that list I was curious about :)

Lessons by McEwan is wonderful! Anna Karenina is predictably good, but War and Peace is on another level.

I've also just read Scaffolding and like you, I adored it. I thought it was incredibly insightful and original. I'll now move to her non-fiction, as I really liked her writing and point of view. I also agree with you on the Didion and Levy, but they are hardly controversial!

I’m happy to have discovered your channel, I recognized some similarities in that The Secret History was a book that got me started on my reading journey, but I too have only really been consistently reading as of 2024. I look forward to following along with you!
