Cleaning Sterling Silver Chains with Aluminum Foil, Baking Soda & Vinegar: What Works, What Doesn't
This method works to remove tarnish from sterling silver chains that have started to accumulate a soft yellow coloring. Silver can develop a tarnish due to ingredients in bath and body products, and also sometimes from minerals in shower, pool and natural water.
Measurements of salt, baking soda and vinegar are not specific. If after this method your chains are again silver colored but seem to be lacking polish or shine, I recommend giving them a gentle rub with Sunshine Polishing Cloths: amzn.to/3ykFioJ
Do not use with jewelry that contains gems or stones as they may not survive the heat or reaction. Use method at your own risk!

Depending on where you live, you can buy oysters at the grocery store for reference. Or go to a seafood restaurant and they'll just give them to you
Totally makes sense! I think in this case because oyster shells come in so many different shapes and sizes, I was having trouble amalgamating them into one vision in my mind. With some designs I have no trouble doing that, and with other things it’s really a process
dang I miss my dog even during my 10 hour shifts, I can't imagine leaving her for months

Why do people like the oyster shells?
My client owns a coastal boutique and has customers who are big into oysters either for dining or decorative purposes. She has shared that people who harvest them in that area are serious about them. I know they are important parts of certain aquatic ecosystems as they are water cleaners, which makes them special to a lot of people. That’s about all that I know about them!

Personally, I hate silver clay. It's brittle. Just learn how to work with real silver and it will hold up better. This is likely to crack and break over time.

@@emilygrant4736 If properly fired it is strong. I would only fire something like this with a kiln (not torch, which is the other option).
