I must have watched 5 or 6 Latvian braid tutorials, often watching in slow motion and knitting along with the screen. I am quite an experienced knitter, but your video was the only one that enabled me to make the braid correctly. I really appreciate your excellent instructions. Now hopefully I can take this from my practice swatches onto the pattern where I really need the braid! I'm sure with the help of your video, I will be able to accomplish it.

This is a great video. Thank you! Ive had a problem with a solid yarn that pooled (same dye lot) but I used the helix method and it was so easy! I’m going to do a scrap sweater with this method and can’t wait to see how it turns out.

I won a prize on Ravelry during Sock Madness, and the prize was a pattern of my choice. I choose Dark Academia. Bought my yarn for it 2 days ago (Isager Tvinni) and will cake it up in the coming days, so I'm ready to start knitting this beautiful sweater for NaKniSweMo (knitting a sweater with at least 50.000 sts during the month of november). Definitely not the easiest ... too many slipped stitches and too much thinking ... Purl Soho has a video entitled "Helix Knitting Tutorial" ... it is a much easier and fool proof way to helix knit with 3 or more different yarns.

Thanks for all these tips. I learnt about Helix knitting in the last week. Since then, I've knitted 4 Beanie hats with the Helix method, using 2 strands of wool. One is the main colour and the 2nd is variegated. It makes for a great looking hat. I'll be trying the 3 strand method soon. Thanks once again for your tips and greetings from England 😁🧶🪡

I am getting a hole where the three skip stitches are as I go up. What can I do, or what am I doing wrong.

Thanks very much for this tutorial! I did a Latvian braid in the round once, a decade ago, without a video and I wouldn't be able to figure it out like that anymore for doing it flat. This is a lifesaver, and you're right: tutorials are usually for braids in the round! Really appreciate it! I'm going to knit a few Latvian braids instead of welts on my Penguono cardigan now.
