So, regarding the contextual offer BBB, would the points for standard entry requirements be the same for the contextual entry requirement? Or would they be counted as 8?
Hi. Contextual entry applications are assessed in a different pool than standard entry therefore the points threshold will be different. You can find more information on our Apply to Medicine webpage (in the "Widening Participation" section): www.ncl.ac.uk/medicine/study/undergraduate/apply-medicine/
hi ,there is no mention about International admission requirements in the video. Are International students accepted to apply for MBBS A100 course
Hi! Yes, we do. We have a separate video that explains the admissions process for international applicants. You can watch it here: ua-cam.com/video/Uqk4biLtESA/v-deo.htmlsi=lIwZItv4hgQTdAQb
while studying this course can we become a coach in proffessional football club?
Hi! Our Sport and Exercise Science programme offers more teaching in exercise science rather than coaching. But take a look at the "Your future" section of the programme's webpage to learn more about other career options for our graduates: www.ncl.ac.uk/undergraduate/degrees/c600/
The scholaship is available?
Hi! All our scholarship opportunities are available on our website: www.ncl.ac.uk/student-financial-support/scholarships/
Are GCSE resits allowed?
Hi! GCSE resits are accepted. We will consider the highest grade at GCSE.
my right ear heard this.
hello thanks so much, but i request you kindly to help me know the best online research tools you could be using specifically for pharmacy ,i am in first year also.and i think you know what it means for us studying in developing countries, thank you my dear
Hi, hope you are enjoying pharmacy, it’s a great programme 😊 what I would recommend is that you use the online workshops that the library offers, as well as asking your peer mentor and tutor for support. Your peer mentor and tutor will sign-post you to the best tools available for research. I hope this helps 😊
Can you apply to Newcastle Medicine via PARTNERS ?
Hi! Yes, you can apply to our MBBS prgramme through our PARTNERS scheme. PARTNERS applicants are ranked separately to typical applicants.
Is all of this still true now ?
Hi - yes, the information regarding the course structure, placements, research opportunities and societies is still accurate. For the information on PARTNERS, applications for 2025 entry Medicine are assessed under a new admissions policy to previous years, so we are unable to advise on thresholds for the coming year. Medicine PARTNERS applicants are ranked separately to typical applicants and PARTNERS applicants to Medicine may be invited to interview with a lower UCAT score than typical applicants. This is not guaranteed each year as it depends on the performance of the applicants in that year as a whole.
I’m an international student with no gcses but have 4A* predicted with 3060 ucat score… do I have a chance of getting interviewed?
Hi! International applicants follow a different admissions policy. We have made a video on this also which you can view here: ua-cam.com/video/Uqk4biLtESA/v-deo.htmlsi=VsykNfDh__PsWsJP
How is the UCAT score given a point number? For example, if 3200 was 60 points what would the points be for the other scores?
Hi! We allocate points for the UCAT score as follows: >3200 = 60 points, 3199 to 3150 = 59 points, 3149 to 3100 = 58 points, 3099 to 3080 = 57 points... and so on. You can see the full table in our MBBS Admissions policy which is available on our website.
@@StudyMedicalSciencesNCL ok thank you!
Is there a higher academic weighting scoring for PARTNERS application as applying with BBB puts you at a heavy disadvantage for the academic side eg my achieved grades are BBB but I have 9888888 which would land me with a lot more points than my a levels
Hi there. PARTNERS student and other applicants coming through supported entry routes do not get a higher UCAT academic score, but they are considered separately to all other applicants so there is no disadvantage.
For the academic screening score, what would be a typical score to secure an interview and offer?
Hi there! We can't give a definitive cut-off score to secure an interview as the academic screening score will change each year based on the quality of the applications we receive for that given year. For 2026 entry, we will be able to provide an indication of what it may be, based on the cut for 2025 entry. But as 2025 entry is the first year that the application process has followed this procedure, we're not yet able to provide information on this.
@@StudyMedicalSciencesNCLdo we receive any info of the score we achieved once we hear back about an offer/rejection? Thanks!
@@Djangodashhh Hi! If you successfully receive an interview, you can contact us after a decision has been made for interview feedback. We don't share other feedback/scoring.
Hey! I’m a nurse by profession but I always wanted to be a medical student! How should i start my medical journey in Canada?
Hi there! Carol is Canadian but is studying Medicine in the UK here at Newcastle University. If you're interested in studying with us, you can find all the information about our MBBS programme - including entry requirements for international students - here: www.ncl.ac.uk/undergraduate/degrees/a100/

Hello
Hi! Pop any questions about our Biomedical Sciences degree in the comments!
Is biomedical science is assignment based or exam based?
How many day a class run in week in biomedical science?
if i've gotten my full irish leaving cert (A level equivalent) results before applying can this fill for academic screening instead of GCSE's? Also would 2 H1s be equal to an A* or is it more complicated than that?
Hi @sss20001 - if you have completed your Irish Leaving Cert then yes, these will count as your most recently achieved grades and will be what we look at. In terms of how the grade matches to our A Level offer, you can find the Irish Leaving Certificate in the dropdown for "Other UK and the Republic of Ireland qualifications" in the Entry Requirements section of our MBBS course page: www.ncl.ac.uk/undergraduate/degrees/a100/. PLEASE NOTE: the page is currently displaying information for 2024 entry. The page will update at the end of June with details for 2025 entry, so please check back later in the month. Alternatively, you can send a query to mbbs.admissions@newcastle.ac.uk.
@@StudyMedicalSciencesNCL thank you!
So you don't take in context predicted grades at all?? How would partners/contextual offers happen in this case would the points be lowered
Hi @Hana-re5xc, yes we do! Step 1: we screen all applications to assess whether their predicated academic grades meet the minimum entry requirements. Candidates identified as eligible for the contextual stream for entry / PARTNERS will be processed separately and may receive a lower academic screen and offer threshold.
@@StudyMedicalSciencesNCL Thank you!!
Is the selection and screening process the same for dentistry ?
Hi @ShahzibAsghar-rc4mu - our admissions policy for Dentistry is different. We still screen all applications and invite to interview based on the strength of your application, but we don't generate an academic score based on your most recently achieved grades (i.e. GCSEs). You can find the full details here: www.ncl.ac.uk/undergraduate/degrees/a206. PLEASE NOTE: the page is currently displaying information for 2024 entry. It will update at the end of June with details for 2025 entry so please do check back then.
If I have completed AS, will that be considered instead of GCSE? thanks
Hi @violetleung - no, we do not consider AS. In this instance, we would look at your GCSEs.
This was really informative!! Thank you very much for making this video!!
Thanks for your comment! We're so pleased you found this helpful!
if you didn’t get the best gcse grades, but your a levels are really good and ucat is there a good chance of you getting an offer for interview ?
Hi @aperson5413 - if you have completed your A levels before applying, these are your most recent grades and therefore we will not need to consider your GSCE scores. If you are still completing your A levels while applying (and therefore have predicted grades for A level), we will use your GCSEs to determine an academic score. We invite applicants to interview based on a combination of academic score and UCAT score.
@@StudyMedicalSciencesNCL With average GCSE but high predicted be taken into considerations
@@Hana-rq5xc Predicted grades are taken into consideration yes. In Step 1, we look at predicate grades when screening applicants to ensure they meet the minimum entry requirements.

CAN YOU PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS TO GET IN UNDERGRADUATE medicine in AUSTRALIA?
We will be making a video for international student entry, however please note we are Newcastle University based in the UK.
Large numbers of doctors from abroad are being imported to work in our busy hospitals. There is a chronic shortage of doctors in the UK. Some of these doctors will not have gone through such a rigorous selection criteria to access to study medicine in their home country.
1/3 of the doctors in the NHS have been trained outside of the UK. There is multiple selection criteria for them to be able to come and work within the country and to make sure they are fit to practice. Educate yourself!
just admit you are an ignorant and belligerent racist. for a doctor who is trained outside the uk to work here they have to go through multiple medical training programs and exams which takes at least 3 years and up to 12 depending on the specialty. a consultant gynaecologist from egypt will have to undergo tests like PLAB1 and2 as well as having to start the training pathway for gynaecology, even tho they were already a consultant back in egypt. This ensures that all doctors are at the same level. you are backwards thinking and have a very big problem if you think “other countries have worse doctors” because this highlights your white superiority complex. would you have said the same if it was an american doctor? they are foreign too? people like you are the reason xenophobia is normalised in this country and i will not stand for it
