Btw…A game plan that Ryan Day literally said “he’d do again if given the opportunity.”* That UM game was a LONG time coming. I predicted a UM loss based on Howards “McCord-esq” horrible decision making, alone. Ryan Day does not have the ability to coach this team…and he won’t let Chip Kelly do his job either. Buckeyes aren’t at a disadvantage hosting the CFP….they’re at a disadvantage with Ryan Day coaching this team. And, now what Ryan Day is going to do *Ohio State is going to lose to a warm weather SEC team, at home in the shoe in cold weather, making this loss, consecutive losses, and 2nd worst in Buckeye history.* And, even if Ryan Day DOES win this game, he’ll lose the next one. *There won’t be anything “fun” about it. Let's get real- the college football playoff system has always sucked. They have taken decades to tweak it only to fail by adding more teams as opposed to a system that is legit. It should not be based upon opinion polls, region biases, income revenue, schedule strength, etc. It is a very simple fix. Require every team in the FBS to join one of 8 conferences. Those 8 conference championship games start the playoffs (totaling 16 teams). Obviously, conference champs advance. No wild cards. No byes. No play in games. No BS. If Notre Dame doesn't want to join a conference then they are not eligible for the playoffs. The playoff teams are decided on the field. Non conference games are not part of the conference records thus teams can schedule tougher opponents instead of scheduling the likes of Akron or Mercer without being penalized should they suffer a loss. These arguments about who got in and who was left out a la SMU vs Alabama are so cringe year after year. Such ridiculous arguments do not exist with the NFL playoff model #GetItDoneAlready

TN and Ohio State have the toughest draw by far. The winner has to potentially play Oregon, Texas and Georgia to win the championship. Warde Manuel and his committee did neither team any favors.

Vols Fan here. I agree with you. Based on strength of schedule and the quality of wins and losses, we should be ranked behind Ohio State. I believe we have a better case with Penn State or Texas. That said, I'm looking forward to the Ohio State match up - it's a chance for Tennessee to prove themselves in front of a huge TV audience. To quote the great Josh Heupel " If you're not of the mindset going into this thing, anyone anywhere, any time, then you're just there to have a cup of coffee ".
