Bud hurlbut certainly has obscure locomotives. But nut tree #5 is certainly the most well documented out of most of them.

I almost feel guilty for watching this eavesdropping on such a beautiful family. But I appreciate the person who shares it because it reminds me of a different California. And how lucky I am to have grown up here.

I remember this place as a kid. I remember looking at the toy soldiers in the toy shop and wanting one but not getting it (I didn't ask or whine I just knew I wasn't going to get it). I also remember the restaurant vaguely.

Thanks for posting this. It brings back so many happy memories of the original Nut Tree. Apparently you can buy pics of the original nut tree at the Solano County museum in Vacaville.
