Jerk Troubles
Переглядів 1069 років тому
In this training session, Chris struggles with his jerks. He will move his grip out next time and get his head through. Rusty from the time off.
The Struggle is Real (3/12/2015)
Переглядів 1339 років тому
Finally, Chris is BACK! He was dealing with a shoulder issue so he took some time off, as well as getting ready to be a new father! This is his first time using blocks for cleans, and is really struggling to get it down. He's learning to finish his pulls and get his hips through, that's the main focus right now.

Chris has been saying this new program has really made his joints feel the best that they have so far! This is GREAT news considering how much shoulder issues he has had in the past.
Chris's Training (6/2/2014)

It's been a while! Had to finish up college. GRADUATED! Now, hopefully i'll have more time to make videos of Chris's training. He is on a new program geared to endurance for a while. As for me, my lifting and competing days are most likely over. After surgery on both of my knees, and needing another on my left knee, a comeback is unlikely. But who knows.

      @@codykyle68w this is not what i expected when starting the movie but the music is great;) i have a few "loose" songs on the gym playlist as well, they are great when we had records to broke and there is some stress. And I saw this attitude just from Illya, he was very loose about the PR of the lifts, often dancing while humming something in front of it. Just compare it to other athletes to understand how unusual it is ... and very effective!

    Hi Cody, amazing video thanks for posting! I have a question...when snatching (or cleaning), where do they keep the weight for balance? More on the midfoot or heels? I heard that Chinese extend the ankles too in the second pull...what is your opinion about? Thank you!

    • @codykyle68w
      @codykyle68w 11 років тому

      I call them Ukrainian Drop Snatches. I don't know if there is a name for them but I saw years ago some people doing these in Ukraine, so that's what I call them. I think they are much better exercise than snatch balances or overhead squats because it simulates the snatch more so than the snatch balance or overhead squat. Plus most people do snatch balances wrong (they basically do a snatch grip power jerk and then ride the weight down like an overhead squat rather than dropping and catching low).
