That is amazing! Although you were so young then, you shared a moment in history that so many hold dear. I am honored that you shared some of these memories and stories with me today. My dad was my hero, and these were some of his best times in life.

@@addshot Yes same here. Both my parents went to the NY immigration office in 1962 and swore allegiance to the US flag so I think that meant they became full citizens, I'm not completely sure but it was when UK citizens were still one of a small number of privileged nationalities. I believe Ted Kennedy opened it all up in 1965. Either way my Dad was contacted in 1968 in Nassau and told he was number 150 on the Vietnam draft list. He went to the embassy and told them he had already done British national service and wasn't interested and surrendered his US status. I think he had also realised he was still liable for US income tax. I'm not sure if my mother lost hers at the same time but it looks like my father was a US citizen when I was born which could mean I still am. It's very difficult to work out now and the records must be buried very deep somewhere and never been digitised. Hope I don't owe a lot of US taxes !!

LEGO customer support ended up giving me all my purchase history. Amazing. Target would only give me 18 months of purchase history. Target told me that without a subpoena, 18 months is all they would provide. Goodbye Target.
