I’m sitting on my couch in Massillon Ohio contemplating bunion surgery on my left foot. It’s so deformed that my great toe has pushed the toe beside it, over top of the third to. I also have a huge bump in the joint facing inward. Very painful and causes balance issues. I Googled “the best bunion surgeon in the world”. Sure enough, there you were.

This doesn't look like a minimally invasive surgery to me. The other minimally invasive surgeries I have watched all 1. used a tool to "shave" off the bunion bones. 2. no screws. 3. small incisions like 1-2 cm each, usually 2-3 incisions. Am I misunderstanding the definition of "minimally invasive bunionectomy"?

How come there's little or no bleeding during the procedure? Also, would you call your surgery technique the classic method?

Why no immediate pain after surgery? Im due bunion surgery soon and it looks super painful.

I’m glad your surgery was painless , I tell ya I’m 8 weeks post op and it’s been difficult,with pain and lots of swelling.

Why does my doc remove stitches 10 to 14 days later ? Make me stay in a surgical shoe no driving for 2 weeks too. I wish she offered the surgery this way. I guess each surgeon does it differently? 🤷‍♀️

Ha Ha Ha, I can't help but laugh, my bunion is so big I would be happy with her 'before' picture. But I'm too scared to have surgery to fix it.

I have Arthritis in my right foot where my bunion is l8cated and its pronounced. It has gone over to the 2nd toe just a bit behind. I wear wide, round shoes and those are hard to find. I wear Birkenstock, Teva Tirra sandals, Mephisto because they all have arch support and are wide enough. The surgeon Ive been speaking with here told me that she can do the surgery and straighten my big toe back to normal but I will have a steel plate holding my toe and foot together and wouldn't be able to bend the toe as well as lift the heel all the way up.

I had Dr Moy do my bunionectomie’s 8 years ago. He did a great job and it was pain free!!!

I had a bunionectomy exactly 7 weeks and 4 days ago. I also had to have a midfoot fussion. I’m still on crutches and no weight bearing at the moment. I have another doctor appt in a couple days and I’m praying I can start to bear weight again and return to work soon. Not going to lie, this video of his experience has me terrified. I already had awful aches and pains and I did the surgery to help with the pain. It was so bad I would limp every single day after just after a few hours of being on my feet. I am supposed to do the other foot after this one but it’s overwhelming to even think about getting the other one done. It gets very depressing sitting in my house day after day unable to do much.

I went to a doc when I was 26 and begged them to fix my bilateral bunions. It’s congenital and ALL females in my family,y had already had the surgeries. My nana had her entire bone removed in her second toe so it could be fixed. I mentioned that it was “ugly” as part of my conversation with the doc but also that it hurt, required shoes 2 sizes too big and I got blistered if not. He told me to “come back when I’m old and they REALLY hurt”. So now I’ve got probably some of the worst bunions y’all have ever seen. No feeling in my big toes and I’ve been afraid to go to a foot doc that he will also deny me. I see these surgeries and these bunions don’t look anywhere near as bad as mine.

Could you still move your toes to your full compactity and be able to balance the same? I do so many running sports and sports that I need to be able to balance, and will it always hurt after? Or cause discomfort? I need to focus a lot in one of my sports ,I can’t have anything cause that to be over, so could you still move your toes normally after this surgery?

Hye doctor i've recently got my bunion surgery with a screw n plate on my foot, but a year later my big toe is really stiff and i cant bent like normal before, should i seek my foc back n remove all the screws n plate
