    We can’t get the anchor to snap off at any of the sections.

      Please make sure you are using the red wood anchors, not the black masonry version. The red wood anchors should be vary easy to snap off at any of the sections. The black masonry anchors are much more difficult to snap.

    The door on the cabinet under my sink keeps falling off. This is exactly the kind of fix I’ve been looking for. I might do a preemptive fix on all the kitchen cabinet doors. 😂

      These actually work better for some situations, like base of a chair. I've tried to repair it with matchsticks and wood glues, and the screw hole stripped again a month later. Used these and 6 months in and still strong as new.

    Your videos and small amount of written instructions contradict each other- using the anchor in what is obviously a mid-size hole, you DON'T snap off the smaller segments in this video. Why? Or does it matter only if you are saving the smaller pieces for another hole?

    • @joshthecomputertech
      @joshthecomputertech 5 років тому

      It's best to leave the smaller sections on because it improves the grip of the anchor in the stripped hole, and eventually, the screw. You can snap the smaller sections off before starting, if say, you need them for another project, or if the depth of the wood/hole is shallow/thin; but if the wood and stripped hole is deep/thick, it will reduce the effectiveness of the the anchor and may lead to an undesired result. Hope that helps.

    Will these work in a hollow door?

    • @screw-it-again9826
      @screw-it-again9826 6 років тому

      If the door is hollow it likely won't work since there needs to be material around the anchor for the blades to grab and ideally a bottom to the hole. You might want to consider a stucco anchor.
