A fun and upbeat song in an otherwise emotional rollercoaster of an episode.

This song is truly the best in depicting what friendship is all about. I am so blessed to have my dear friend Terri Olsen in my life.

So for context - I wrote the teleplay after Molly Ivans had the idea for the story, I didn't write the song which Patricia does a great job with. It wasn't until later that I found out that HBO cast all the amazing voices in the episode .

This episode of the Happily Ever After series is surprisingly faithful to the original source material of the story based on. Their costars are Phil LaMarr as one of the pigeons and the new mayor and the late former New York mayor Ed Koch (credited as Edward Koch in this episode) as the voice and model design of Mayor Happy Prince.

My mom has always been a Cyndi Lauper fanatic! Growing up she was able to tape this episode on VHS and my sister and I would watch it. This song just popped into my head last night as I was trying to fall asleep and I just HAD to go find it today.
