      Ah, CTE-the dreaded villain of contact sports! 🧠 But before we jump to conclusions, it's worth noting that CTE is primarily linked to repeated head trauma over a long period, especially in athletes with intense careers. So unless you're sparring 24/7 like Rocky Balboa, most casual boxers won’t see the same level of risk. 💪 And hey, no one’s getting critical CTE from a boxing class at the gym... unless they’re headbutting the punching bag on purpose! 😅👀 Just remember-protect the dome and you’ll be fine! 🧢🥊"

    Great video! Do i recover if i do 3 sets (max minus 3) per day ? Is it enough one day for recovery ?

    • @BodyShack-channel
      @BodyShack-channel 3 місяці тому

      Hi Cezar! Thanks for the comment and for watching the video! Doing 3 sets of (max minus 3) pushups per day can be effective, but recovery is key to ensuring continuous progress and preventing overtraining. --->Recovery Time: While one day of recovery might be enough for some people, it depends on various factors like your fitness level, nutrition, sleep, and how your body responds to the exercise. Generally, for most people, allowing at least one full rest day between intense pushup sessions is recommended to ensure your muscles have enough time to recover and grow. --->Listen to Your Body: Pay attention to how your body feels. If you experience excessive soreness, fatigue, or any signs of overtraining, consider incorporating more rest days or varying the intensity of your workouts. --->Alternate Approach: You could try doing pushups every other day or mix in lighter days with fewer sets to see how your body responds. I hope you find my response helpful !

    Awesome video. As someone in the "Advanced" category who needs to focus on pushing to muscle failure rather than specific reps to start increasing overall reps, how frequently should these sets be performed in a given week to allow for ample recovery? I'm thinking 3x per week, but not entirely sure.

    • @BodyShack-channel
      @BodyShack-channel 3 місяці тому

      Hi Luke! Thanks for watching and for the great question. For someone in the "Advanced" category, focusing on pushing to muscle failure is key for maximizing gains. Performing pushup sets 3 times a week is a solid approach, as it allows for enough intensity while providing your muscles with sufficient recovery time. Here’s a more detailed plan: Frequency: Aim for 3 sessions per week, ensuring you have at least one rest day between pushup workouts. Intensity: Since you're pushing to failure, it's crucial to listen to your body. If you feel excessively fatigued, it might be helpful to incorporate a lighter day or an extra rest day. Recovery: In my opinion this is the part where most people fail. Always prioritize good nutrition, hydration, and sleep to facilitate muscle recovery and growth. By following this approach, you'll give your muscles the stimulus they need to grow while also allowing adequate recovery time. Keep pushing, and you’ll see those reps increase!

    Hole in one. 12,500 to 1 odds. Interesting. I’ve had three during my fifty odd years of golfing. By my count, I’ve had one in every 1500 rounds of golf. 4 par threes and maybe a drivable par four each round works out to 7,500 to one probability. I believe Kenny Perry has the most at over 80. I’m not sure if private rounds are included but as Kenny says, being good just makes you that much luckier. I’m approaching 6000 rounds so I’m due for another very soon. Fairways and Greens! Wow, that's incredible! Three hole-in-ones is definitely something to be proud of. It's fascinating how the odds play out differently for everyone. Your calculation of 7,500 to 1 probability is a great insight, considering the number of par threes and drivable par fours you encounter. Kenny Perry's record is indeed impressive, and it's true that skill increases your chances of those lucky shots. Best of luck on your quest for the next hole-in-one. Reduce stress and anxiety!? In my 40’s I thought I could make the senior tour. I was a 5 hc with little practice for the past twenty years so a little effort and I thought I’d make to scratch or better. Towards my late 40’s I played a round just about everyday and hit 300+ practice balls; and did a lot of short game and bunker practice. By 50, I realized that I won’t make it. Couldn’t even get to scratch. Still my 5hc travelled well and today at 70 I’m about a 7 and of course dreams of the senior tour are mere memories and I play merely to break 80. So stress and anxiety was with me while trying to get to scratch and even today starting out with a double and 5 over at the turn still gives me STRESS and ANXIETY. Depending on why one plays golf, I’m sure most of us having a bad day experiences the same S and A. Fairways and Greens! JamesTown

    • @BodyShack-channel
      @BodyShack-channel 3 місяці тому

      Thank you for sharing your personal journey, JamesTown. It's true that the competitive side of golf can bring its own set of challenges and stress. I appreciate your perspective on how the pursuit of improvement can sometimes lead to anxiety, especially when goals are high. Golf, like any sport, affects everyone differently. For many, it's the social aspect, the beautiful courses, and the time spent outdoors that help reduce stress. Your experience highlights the passion and dedication that golf inspires, even when it's a source of both joy and frustration. Fairways and Greens to you, and here's to enjoying every round!

    First "fact" is nonsense. It doesn't burn fat, no activity directly burns fat. Caloric deficit is the only way to burn fat. All the walking around the course (don't care if it's 4 or 40 miles) will decrease energy reserve which will will cause compensatory hunger i.e if you expended 1000 calories, you will eat end up eating 1000 calories to compensate. The only way to lose weight is have a caloric deficit which means hunger every day. It's called the lipostat theory and you should look it up as this point is misleading.

    • @BodyShack-channel
      @BodyShack-channel 3 місяці тому

      Thank you for sharing your thoughts! You raise some valid points, and I'd love to clarify my statement. You're correct that a caloric deficit is necessary for weight loss, and that directly burning fat is not as straightforward as just doing physical activity. However, engaging in physical activities like golf can contribute to creating that caloric deficit. When I mentioned that playing golf can burn between 800 to 1400 calories, I was highlighting the potential for physical activity to increase overall calorie expenditure. This can be a helpful part of a weight loss strategy when combined with mindful eating habits. While it's true that increased activity might lead to compensatory hunger, being aware of this and making conscious food choices can help manage caloric intake. The lipostat theory does suggest that our bodies strive to maintain a certain weight, but it doesn't mean that sustainable weight loss isn't possible. It's about balancing physical activity with a healthy diet to achieve and maintain a caloric deficit over time. I appreciate your comment, as it allows for a more nuanced discussion on the topic. Thanks for contributing to the conversation!
