Sadly no views at the top with whiteout conditions. The trail is marked well the way up and you just follow the road down
Incredible winter weather (pity there wasn't more snow for you though!). In Feb the Northern Tongariro circuit was completely different, and whenever we could we went swimming to cool off. It looks much better in winter and presumably you avoided the crowds, which go against everything I enjoy when tramping. Your route took you to less used huts and well away from the busy areas. I must confess to enjoying the relative luxury of Waiohonu hut - definitely 5 stars. Were you using a GoPro or similar? The video quality is really good. What did you use to edit?
I was using a GoPro 12 to film. To edit the video I used an app called CapCut.
Im the hunter with the dog, stopped for a chat upper kaipo. Knew it was you lot soon as this popped up on my feed. Good trip!
