When Art Warehouse first started, it was a channel that introduced famous artists and their works that most people knew.
However, since there are very few videos of inactive artists, we only started with presentation-style videos. This presentation video doesn't fit UA-cam's policy, so we're making a video with an explanation of the artist by re-editing the video of the currently living artist.
On the other hand, I'm thinking about how to make a video of the work of a deceased artist and upload it. If I were a critic of a work of art, I could make a video with a critique of that work, but I am not a critic or expert on professional artists.

Lionel Smit is a South African artist, known for his contemporary portraiture executed through large canvases and sculptures.
Lionel Smit is one of South Africa’s most prolific and exalted artists. His artistic diversity is pursued through a variety of mediums and he is best known for his contemporary portraiture. His art is defined by a deeply rooted symbiotic relationship between sculpture and painting. Today, each of Lionel Smit’s works offers us an entry point into the variety and richness that lies beneath every face we encounter in life, whether applied in bronze or paint. The blending of techniques across genres is a display of Smit’s work in multiple media, all bearing a visible and tangible overlap.

Collections including his works vary from Standard Chartered Bank to Laurence Graff Art Collection and his painting has been featured on the cover of Christie’s Auction Catalogue.
Born in 1982 in Pretoria, South Africa, Smit was exposed to sculpture through his father Anton Smit, who worked from his studio adjacent to the family home. This studio played a central role in Lionel's upbringing. By age twelve, Smit was already working in clay and considered himself primarily as a sculptor. At sixteen his parents separated, after which Lionel, a student at Pretoria's Pro Arte School of Arts at the time, began to use the empty studio space his father occupied for painting.
Smit is based in Strand, South Africa. He has achieved international success including sell-out exhibitions in London and Hong Kong. Lionel Smit has also enjoyed success in his home country of South Africa, where his work has featured in local publications such as Elle South Africa and Elle Decoration.

I thought the sculpture of the figure laying on two boxes was lifesize until they showed it in the Gallery space. Just goes to show the ambiguous nature of film and photography of something. Great Artworks I would like to see more of her stuff.

I think I know the reason I get frustrated with some Artists. It's when they have so much Talent but they don't use it to actually say anything. They use the talent to paint beautiful women or idealic scenes etc etc. But nothing of substance that says anything about my life. Says nothing about human history or theory about anything at all. Its unnatatched nice Art . Obviously there is nothing wrong with that at all. People love it. But you can buy a tin of biscuits with the same sentiments decorated on it. Obviously Artists like Caravaggio painted for the Church. So their paintings had to have a message and meaning . But even Caravaggio put his own spin on his artworks and made them controversial on purpose to make people think. Lets put it another way its like being a fantastic brain surgeon but you only do surgery on plastic heads . 😂
Again using Caravaggio as an example. His portrait with a bowl of fruit. All the fruit was Rotting but he painted it so beautifully so skilled. But it also has a message about indulgence and the Impermanence of life.He even depicted himself as looking unwell and dying. Now that's Art !
