Scary Cave camping in the bad weather
After some heavy Uk storms I ventured into the Lake District in search of a remote cliff top cave called the Priests hole to spend the night.

Onetigris Demon stove woodland walk and breakfast
Cheers for taking the time to make this vid marra
I used to put pebbles or small stones in the bottom to weight it down to prevent tipping, and also to stop loss of heat through the bottom
Thanks for sharing! I hadn't heard of this iteration of "rocket stove"... it's a shame it's not made from titanium. 😃
Perfect video! Quick, simple and covers everything I could want to know. Thank you!!
Is that a Field English Cocker?
She’s a working cocker spaniel
Test is waste of time. Your not going to use this indoors ,so why are you not testing it outside? You will not get benefit of windshield. Testing outside gear indoors! Pure laziness
Haha , indoors is my wind shield 🛡️ and it’s more informational that sci3nce !! But let me know the link to you results if they differ
I have both and went back to the trangia after missing being able to screw the lid back on with fuel in the burner for the next meal. I also missed the simmer ring, being able to use half the fuel and control the heat. Also, as others have mentioned, I like being able to snuff out the flame with the lid too.
You can also use hand sanitizer in them
I was wondering how efficient a titanium cup would be at conducting heat vs something else, like stainless steel, and they are actually quite similar. Copper is much more conductive, as are aluminum and silver, if you happen to find a copper cup, it would be interesting to do a comparison between the titanium and copper cups for boil time.
Lavalier mic dude
Nice mate! good tips! especially the "will it work in the rain" test cracked me up! :)
fuel line anti-freeze. get in auto dept. packs of 4 are cheap.
Quite biased?
This guy is probably more satisfied and content with his simple activity (and possibly simple life) than most people.
Yeah boy 😋🏕
Was awsome lol
Very nice😊
Thanks was awsome
Own trangia for a long time, its bombproof thing, i mod it with carbon felt, so it safe for forest, yea maybe a bit heavy, i dont mind
A lot of people use a windscreen cut from a disposable baking sheet, which would cut the weight way down. It only needs to be the height of the stove and wrap 3/4. Evernew is a nice setup. Not horribly expensive for titanium. Nice stove no doubt.
Iv a Ali express Ali sheet for this reason only coz it was cheaper than a baking tray lol
Thanks for this video. Looks like I will go this way with my Zebra 👍⭐🙂 I don't like original plastic locks that finally get burned in the flames 🔥
I switched back to the Trangia after 2 hikes..
as a someone who doesn't have much knowledge about this stuff and just got interested with camping; this is a really great video. simple and straightforward with good demonstration!
Simple but Brilliant Bravo Sir !
Exactly what i was looking for. Thanks for the video!
Glad I could help!
Great video mate. I used mine today for the first time on a trail (worked great for preparing a cup of tea), and was wondering what would happen when using inappropriate fuels.
Good stuff!
Good eva
Thanks for looking after Eva on her holidays
Fine if all you want to do is boil water. Trangia is much more that that.
Nice summary, chap! I love to see super low fat explanations like these. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for the kind comment hope to be able to make new content soon
Is it water resistant?
Ye to a good extent it not sold as waterpoof but it keeps most stuff out. . But I always bag electronic in it just in case
I’ve been using this stove for 10 yrs now. It’s not used heavily but it is used. Took me ages to be brave enough to use twigs in the stand, given the cost etc. But we only have one life!!! I do have other stoves but the Evernew Ti fuel stove is my fav. I love the smell of it as it’s burning away. The DX stand is lightweight, but it works and I enjoy using it. I’m a bike packer and keep my kit weight down. I’m looking forward to this summer and using it again. Thanks for the vid.
I don't know about the Evernew but Trangia has a cotton wick inside, so not all of the alcohol could be recovered.
I don’t think it has in the evernew
You forgot one important don't! Don't use the cap as a snuffer-- it will damage the o-ring!
ALuiminum has that disadvantage oof melting in hot fires. I've done it on a camp 😡
Great video! Thank you sir!
There’s a lot of love for the Trangia burner, I’ve had one for years (two, actually!) and of course they’ve been bomb proof and great. I have also the Evernew DX set, and I certainly prefer the latter in terms of lightness of weight and performance. Nested inside a 550 Toaks cup it’s hard to see the advantage of carrying the additional unneccessary weight of the Trangia for no practical benefit, but that being said I don’t put as much fuel in as you did, and let the burner extinguish itself rather than try to pour out residual fuel. Good kit.
How did you put that furnace out? 😂
This many views but nobody talked about the good boy?🐩
I can’t complain about the Evernew performance but how do I put out that massive flame in my tent?
Roll up carbon felt and put it inside, then use ethanol as your fuel. The carbon felt soaks up the fuel making it virtually un-spillable in your pack, knock it over and it wont set the whole place on fire (no liquid to spill), and methanol is much cleaner burning than kero or other fuels as there's virtually no carbon. Just don't over fill it to the point you over saturate the felt and have liquid sitting on top!
In the 80s I carried my Coleman Peak 1 multi stove on a 2 week hike on the Long Trail in VT. I had about 2 pints of Coleman fuel with me. Many nights I would get comments about why I carry the weight. My answer was I'll never have issue like I have witnessed with the little canister stoves at the time. Long story short, guess who have the ability to cook or bottle water while a bunch of us were cooped up at Taylor lodge on Mt Mansfield. As their fuel ran out, I boiled water for those who apologized for their comments. It was a long walk back to the valley for them to get new canisters.
My response to those who comment on the 'extra weight' that I am carrying (whatever it may be) is, "I'm carrying it". Agree .. rather too much fuel than too little. I have a special soft spot for 'White Gas Stoves' .. mine being an Optimus 8R Hunter which I bought new in the early 80's and still use regularly.
Thanks for sharing!
No problem . Thanks for the comment
It works perfectly for a lid on a 750ml pot
Nice tip 👌. Also found nest in a lot of lids rims for great carry
Good honest review... I liked it. Thanks 🙏🏻
Have you ever put ceramic sponge in there in case of spillages?
Some homemade stoves Iv used fire rope and rock wool
Great video! Perfect information presented in an outstanding way.
Thank you 🙏
Nice jod
Thank you
Esbit Stainless Steel Stove and Pot Stand is similar in that a Trangia burner fits without that ring for Trangia Triangle. 2 heights for burner or fuel plate is made in Titanium is main difference. I have the Esbit.
The best (and the video)
Thanks
Surely that plate with all the holes in is just if you use it as a twig stove, you dont put it in over the alcahol stove?
Apparently yes to both . Iv found in wind it helps speed the heat radiat Rather than blow around
I bought a complete Trangiaset (the biggest) for 5 euro!! in a thriftstore, good as new, verry happy! Been testing it next to my others and it works very well like all say. This comparison was interesting to me since I am building several burners and want to use some vintage veggie-graters as diffusers, didn't know how that would work but now I see this Evernew so I'm even more excited about the idea.
