BAILEIGH MH-19 Variable Speed Power Hammer
Baileigh's most popular Power Hammer, the Baileigh MH-19 is the only metal-shaping tool you’ll need. Built from 1”-thick steel, this USA-made machine can drastically shape panels, planish, and more.

10k for a shrinker stretcher before dies I could sure buy a lot of other stuff. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think there is a better unit on the market but wow! They are so expensive.

I thought those were called planishers?
The basic difference between an planishing hammer and a power hammer is size. The air hammer is a lot smaller using small lighter dies but having a hit number of up to 3,000 hits per minute. A power hammer can have a hammer head assembly with 3 inch dies that weighs much more and can do 1,200 hits per minute. A planishing hammer will shape and finish small parts very easily but will not be very efficient shaping large parts. Your power hammer will shape large parts easily and both will do very nice finish work. The power hammer is larger and more expensive so anybody looking to invest in one of these would be investing in a machine for life.
