God bless you Mr. Earl Campbell. I became a football fan because of you, Bert Jones and Bob Griese. You guys brought a lot of smiles to the faces to a lot of people. And we will forever be grateful. My prayers will always be with sir.

Little padding, thin helmets, single-bar face guard, no roughing the passer, helmet-to-helmet, face guard tackle, etc. rules - they rushed in to do damage on every play - which he called on his own, with no computer guys in the stands calling in the plays. After a Bears game, he was bloody with a broken nose and loose teeth, limping. He had to work in the off-season to make a living. A different game then.

Earl Campbell will always be the greatest running back of all-time in my opinion. All of the vicious hits he took as a player took a toll on his body. If the Oilers had at a quarterback in Earl Campbell's prime he could avoided a lot of the hits he took when he played. Unfortunately the team's quarterback was a "super scrub" named Dan Pastorini who couldn't complete a pass to save his life.

As a Texas International flight attendant in the 70’s, I worked a charter flight to Pittsburgh. The only seats available were in the middle of Steeler fans that were so kind. They were there to watch Earl Campbell play ball

Tommy Cocaine. Everyone referred to him like that once he reached Syracuse. Used to see Tommy play basketball for Sun Youth in the Montreal Basketball League when he was a teenager. During a tournament here in Montreal, we saw him light-up a team from New-York - Riverside Church - who had cleaned-up all the teams they played, until they faced Tommy and Sun Youth. Tommy scored almost 60 points. He beat them by himself. I think it was 1981. He was obviously a great athlete. Hope you managed to find God brother.
